The above images were taken on a walk that I do several times a week. This time I set out on my own and walked in silence. I wasn't expecting to see much because as mentioned, I do this walk several times a week and know these streets like the back of my hand.
I tuned into my senses and allowed them to guide me on this walk. The images above are just an example of what we can notice when we tune into the silence and become entangled with place. These images don't carry any particular meaning, nor are they connected in any way. Neely (2018) suggests that music is the connection between sounds. One musical note may not sound like much, however if you put a number of musical notes together, you end up with a beautiful melody. These images alone may not look like much, however, together, they are the unique personality of this little suburb.

Dadirri is an Indigenous term which means deep listening. It means tuning into the silence and still awareness and being with nature. It is a process of finding peace. (Ungunmerr-Baumann, 2002). In today's society, we don't take the time to really listen. Our minds are always thinking of the next thing.
In the above videos, I took some time to sit in nature's silence. These videos are a snapshot of that time. If you listen closely, you can hear birds singing, the wind ruffling between the branches, small waves crashing against the rocks and the trinkle of water as the tide pulls the waves back in. Simple sounds that you don't notice when you're busy looking at your phone or listening to mind organise the days ahead.

These are a representation of what I noticed and became attuned to without using my eyes to draw me towards anything.
