They offer services and support for victims of drinking and driving and they are affiliated with the Canadian Government. MADD has hosted and fund-raised many local events across Canada to spread awareness and educate the population of the danger of impaired driving. Statistics say that MADD has saved about 30,000 lives since 1982.

MADD is apart of an "Anti-Impaired Driving Movement" according to their website. They state that they have saved about 36,642 lives between 1982 and 2010. Although about 43,276 Canadians were killed due to impaired driving, they have saved almost the same amount of lives that have been lost to impaired driving.
MADD Canada's mission is to stop impaired driving to support victims of this violent crime. They also state that driving is a privilege, not a right, and that impaired driving crashes are not accidents but that they are a conscious decisions made by the individual. In other words, it means that the driver knew that they were going to drive after consuming drugs or alcohol. Some values that MADD holds include, compassion, leadership, inclusion, collaboration, and excellence.

Is MADD Canada working effectively to achieve the objectives of the movement? Why or why not?

In my opinion, I feel that MADD is a highly effective movement as they have made significant changes in laws that effect impaired driving, in addition to make change they also have workshops and offer support to those who have been affected by impaired driving. MADD has also been a very trustworthy organization, as they have not done anything controversial and they are reputable. MADD is relevant in today's society because more and more young people are starting to drive and they are more inclined to be under the influence while driving. Drinking and Driving is the number one killer in Canada and by fighting against this they can continue to make significant changes in society.

They have done many things that affected the laws of impaired driving and have hosted many events to spread awareness of the issue.
