This website includes many digital interactive activities that allow students to plug in their own information into templates to create projects such as alphabet books, trading cards, post cards, various poetry forms, etc. The formats are set up so the kids can concentrate on the content they want to include rather than worrying about layouts. They really enjoy the projects and they are easy to connect to many different areas of the curriculum.

I have used it as an exit survey for what they have learned, as a way to prepare for a test, and most recently to set the table for a lesson or unit. Students use their google acct. to log in. 25% cost of Today's Meet and my 4th and 5th grade kids love it.

The students can earn "awards" and game time for answering questions and learning information! Wide range of subjects are presented (I never know what I will teach from year to year). It will also archive your students so if you have them again, you don't have to sign them all up again!

I use google classroom for my U.S. History class. I open up a question on it and require students to comment on each others posts. The students cannot see any other answers to the question until they post their own. This seems to encourage students to back their answers with details and examples because they know that it will be open to the scrutiny of fellow students. I found that when a student disagrees with another they often both back their opinions with facts that they look up on their own. This opens up students to use additional resources for further investigation.

Quizizz is similar to Kahoot except that you can choose questions from a large database to create your questions. Also a feature I love is that it scrambles the test - students can be on different questions at the same time. The other fantastic feature is questions and answers appear on the student's device.

Plickers are great for classes that don't have access to many devices. They are these QR code-esque cards that are rotated to choose the answer. The teacher poses the question and then the students show their answers by rotating the plicker to side A, B, C, or D. Each student can be assigned a card, so when the teacher "scans" the crowd (using the Plickers app) they get instant feedback. They can use this to periodically check for understanding through a discussion or class breakout sessions.

-R Keeling

Very simple website allowing you to create quick multiple choice, T/F or short answer quizzes. It provides instant feedback on the results and mixes up the questions when a class is taking the quiz. Most high schoolers have a smart phone so they can easily access the quiz by going to the website and typing in the teachers special code. Only drawback I have had, when creating quiz with short answers, students need to type exactly the way answer key is typed or it will mark it wrong. You can also do a ticket out the door question or have a competitive space race.
