  • Difficulty providing services to students with limited time in the building, specifically in regards to counseling and learning specialists. What would services look like with limited time?
  • Cleaning in an efficient and effective manner; training students to clean if that will be part of the expectation
  • Keeping students six-feet apart, wearing masks
  • Bus safety (social distancing, mask-wearing)
    • If kids aren’t social distancing on the bus, it may be difficult to contact trace if there’s a positive case in a class; it wouldn’t just be classmates they were in close proximity to, but also bus riders, and siblings.
  • Staffing? (teachers, support staff, bus drivers, sub availability and training)
  • Where are the extra funds coming from that will supply the district with appropriate equipment (AV, PPE, etc)?
  • Will it be more disruptive if we have to switch back to 100% distance learning (to students and families)
  • Rising numbers of cases across the state and county
  • Increased risk to staff health and safety
  • Students with behavior challenges (as opposed to distance learning)
  • Ensuring that temp scanners work correctly - staff have already noted this without kids present
  • Will parents in the community have information about positive cases?

  • Counselors don’t have plan time like teachers - what would the 2 ½ break time look like for staff who aren’t classroom teachers?
  • If a teacher has to quarantine due to a positive case in one of the classes, AM, for example, will PM students also have to quarantine? If not, what would that look like for the PM kids while the teacher is out?
  • Where will testing take place with limited space and time? Will SPED staff be able to pull students from in-person class for testing?

    4.  School can't be warm and fuzzy during a pandemic- it will be cold and sterile.

Since secondary would be on the old 2 day schedule, that would leave the young students on their own or require the older students to remain in distance learning.
