The letters begin getting more intense and desperate until Stan, in a tape recording, reveals he has killed himself and his pregnant girlfriend because Eminem never responded. The song ends with Eminem's response to an earlier letter from Stan wishing him well and congratulating him on his child, and telling him to be careful because he just heard about someone who killed himself and his pregnant girlfriend and how there was a tape left in the car. He reflects and realizes the name of the person who made the tape was... Stan.
