Dr. Saron,

I am writing to let you know that teachers and community members plan to attend the board meeting on Monday night to engage in their right to address their elected officials.  

We have met numerous times and have tried to address our issues on a personal and professional level, but our members have grown impatient and feel the need to act.

We would encourage you not to interfere or try and negate their right to address their elected officials.  If you have concerns about their comments, please let us know so we can have our attorney present if you plan to have a conversation with them. 

Additionally, I will no longer be meeting alone with you.  I would request a school board member be present that is not Tom Weber or Steve Schroeder in all of our future meetings.  I will also bring at least 1-2 other union members with me.

We are deeply saddened that we were unable to resolve these issues with your administration.

2.  Use a padlet or chart paper or post-its for people to to write out their  top 3 concerns about the district (may need to break into groups) -- have people write privately first and then share with their group
3.  Organize the post-its into themes (by groups if needed)
4.  Have people/group report out their biggest concerns and capture them on chart paper, etc...
5. Outline -- okay, these are our 3 big themes.  if they can't decide on the three big issues --- write them down and use sticky dots to vote or hand vote.

Phase 3 - Action Step Generation
6.  Have people switch groups and determine what actions steps they are willing to take (have people write privately first and then share with their group)  use items from this padlet to jump start their thinking.
7.  Have groups share their thinking about what actions steps they are willing to take.
8.  If there is not clear agreement on which action steps to take, write them down and use sticky dots to vote.
9.  Determine your first three action steps.

Phase IV - Communication
10.  Determine how to communicate this to all members - when and how?
11. Encourage non-union members to participate in the unions action steps.  How to communicate with them?

Phase V - Prepare for Pushback
