X had been secretly meeting with a guy named aman after school and eventually her mom caught them on the train kissing. Her very religious mother took this very seriously and made her pray for forgiveness on her knees with rice underneath. In addition x had been going to poetry club after school even though she was supposed to be in confirmation class. When altagracia (x’s mom) found the book at home she burned it down to ashes. In Percy Jackson's The Lightning Thief, it is told to us that Percy has ADHD and Dyslexia, as he goes through school he complains about how it affects him and is a nuisance in his life. Turns out Rick Riordan (the author) used this as a way to explain Percy's heritage as a demi-god. in the book character of Grover states how the reason for his Dyslexia is that his brain is hardware to understand ancient Greek, and the reason for his ADHD is that his battle instincts are on high alert at all times.

Percy had seen these disabilities as a curse but in reality was a blessing in disguise as he learned to embrace them in way they dont feel like their holding him back. Or so he thought!
