We decided to do this task as during this year's participation in the e-Twinning project called Eco4Kids, in our class we focused on fruit & vegetables. In fact we planted vegetables on our school roof garden. The year 1 girls read a birtday book related to birtdays to tie in the theme and then in ICT they decorated a digital cake. The next ICT lesson they programmed a microbit to read Happy Birtday as in the video below. The classroom was decorated with hanging balloons that had letters inserted in them. The children took turns to pop the balloons and find the letters. We created a 'Happy Birthday e-twinning' board with the letters found. Then we played a beebot game which included pictures related to celebrations and also photos of the e-twinning projects that the children were involved in throughout this year. Furthermore we implemented a cooking activity and prepared a funfetti cake to actually celebrate e-twinning's birthday. Children planted seeds (peppers, spring onions, lettuce and cherry tomatoes) on the roof garden of our school. Children saw all the process of growing of a plant. The children recorded a a sentence which included the word Europe in Maltese and English as part of the podcast created by all the phrases recorded from our partners. Afterwards, the children drew pictures of their dream school; which as this years' theme in celebrating eTwinning.
