India is no different. From being the largest democracy in the world and having the Prime Minister as the supreme leader of the country, Indian politics has its own charisma.I feel Modi government has surely brought a lot of improvement-
Modi has fundamentally altered the way central governments used to understand economic policy-making. Before Modi, they almost exclusively focused on macroeconomics and the glamour associated with it, while relegating microeconomics to the background or at best to state governments. That is why even after more than 66 years of Independence (in 2014, before Modi took over), the country was still struggling to electrify all its villages, leave alone homes, or ensure proper sanitation coverage in every village, or make healthcare affordable to all. Modi has corrected this imbalance. Modi has changed our acquired character of the last 70 years, which backed down when faced with a powerful adversary. one of the most significant changes has been in our foreign policy the work done in empowering women and freeing them from clutches of societal constraints may, in time, become Modi’s most significant social contribution and perhaps the defining and the long-lasting contribution of Modi, would be the way he has managed to fuse our glorious civilisational heritage with our modern impulses. But this isn't the end there is more to a government and its functioning ,problems like unemployment, high prices of petrol, infrastructure, Healthcare are factors hampering the growth. Most of the elections are marred by corruption on a large scale. Sadly, the country's political climate decides on the social, communal and economic conditions of the country. 
The political system of India suffers due to the clash of different political ideologies. Furthermore, these clashes turn out to be quite ugly. For example, recently our prime minister Mr. Narendra Modi has announced the repeal of the 3 contentious farm laws, which had witnessed protests from farmers, mainly from Punjab and Haryana, on the borders of Delhi for more than a year. Although farmers in Punjab had been expressing their reservations about the proposed reforms since the announcement in the summer of 2020, the protests gained momentum when the center pushed the Bills in Parliament in the Monsoon Session. The farmers feared that the existing APMC mandis, where they sell their produce, would be shut down once private players started trading in agri-produce outside the mandi premises. This also led to a nationwide road blockage on November 3rd. These laws have been revoked to gain the support of the Punjab and Haryana farmers in the upcoming elections.
To conclude, one can hope that India progresses and matures with time. However, India ran the world’s biggest vaccination drive, and successfully administered the vaccine to more than a billion people within the span of 300 days, a remarkable feat, with more than 80% of the eligible population having received their first dose. When the virus first spread all over the world, India’s quick response of a three-week lockdown potentially saved many lives. 
However, due to many reasons, the second wave of the pandemic devastated India. There was a huge lack of infrastructure and resources, with hospitals running out of beds, and medical staff being overworked. In many cases, covid deaths were purposely under-reported too. Tweets criticizing the government’s handling of the pandemic were taken down, and many major public events with thousands of attendees were allowed to take place despite the grim situation. 
In conclusion, I believe the government did mess up in controlling the spread of the virus, but it was also very successful in quickly administering covid vaccines to the people, despite the large population, and that in itself is an achievement.
