"Mango Says Goodbye Sometimes," is a good final vignette for the conclusion of the book. It summarizes Esperanza's whole thought on her current home, the house on mango street and discusses her plans on leaving the place to lead a better life. I saw an example of personification in the text and it says, "I write it down and Mango says goodbye sometimes." Esperanza is talking about her home and houses can't actually say goodbye, it is a human trait.

Esperanza's environment greatly impacts her character. The home she's currently in, the house on Mango street, is a place that is not exactly a great place to live in. Esperanza detests her home and in all of the vignettes we can see how negative her thinking is towards the place and some of the people around her. Many deep topics like growing up or beauty come up, which adds on to Esperanza's weary character.

Esperanza environment I think affected almost everything about her, when she was introduced in the story she rarely seemed happy, she was tired of moving around all the time. She "complained" about every bad detail of the house to the point where she didn't want to consider it a house she lived in. For example when a nun from her school pointed out where she lived she was embarrassed and her house and wanted to live somewhere else. We have seen parts in the book where she seemed to be positive with certain people but not when she was in the house by herself.

I think that esperanzas enviorment shaped her identy by where she was living, and her family and friends/people she met. The house that esperanza lives in is not the best, but i think that she is greatful for the house she lives in now. Esperanzas family/friends has been at her side since she moved there, and the people she met on the way helped her or made her feel better about herself. Esperanza dosent feel great about herslef. but the people in her life help her a lot.
