         <title>Whiskey Tax</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- The federal government passed a tax on whiskey in 1791. The tax was layed on domestic and imported alcohol. Southern and Western farmers, whose grain crop was the main ingredient in whiskey, loudly protested the tax. In 1947, farmers in western Pennsylvania attacked federal officers, trying to collect tax on the grain they had distilled into whiskey. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Import taxes</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>import taxes helped pay back the army debt. It is also called a tariff. The tariffs acted as a collector act in 1789.  After the war the army like the tariffs and taxes because they helped pay of debt and they got the weapons and supplies they needed<br>They put taxes on different things, Alexander Hamilton put an excise tax on whiskey. The tax was 7 cents. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Whiskey Rebellion</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- To stop the outburst from the whiskey tax, Washington called out the national militia to put down what came to be called the whiskey rebellion. Many people were arrested, but later all were either found not guilty or pardoned. Washington only wanted to make sure that no one would question the power of the government. This rebellion made the government more solid and the president more powerful. It also proved that the government knew what they were doing. </div>]]></description>

The XYZ affair was a conflict between France and the US which was caused by the French seizing American ships. It mostly took place in the US and France from 1798-1800. The XYZ affair was important because of what followed which was the Quasi-War.</div>]]></description>

After marrying Martha Dandridge, Washington's slaveholding increased dramatically. Most slaves at Mount Vernon practiced diverse religious traditions and customs. At the time of Washington's death, the Mount Vernon enslaved population consisted of around 317 people. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Nation's capital used to be located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, The City of Brotherly Love, then a chain of event sent the capital to Washington D.C.<br><br>The whole move started with the financial struggle of the states. They decided to make Philidelphia the headquarters of the bank of the United States. This then sent the capital to Washington D.C. The southern states were unhappy with this move because they had payed off their debts.</div>]]></description>

Washington was scared about writing this letter because he thought that it would make someone attack the nation and bring it down or hurt it socially. Alexander Hamilton was an American salesman and he was one of the first founding fathers. Once Alexander Hamilton broke away from Washington he got in trouble with a few people he died because of it. He owed a man money and he dueled with him and was killed.<br><br></div>]]></description>

From 1795 to 1800 the lady's wore very large hats and other headware as shown in the picture. The children of this time mostly just wore the same as there father or mother depending on their gender</div>]]></description>

The House of Representatives decided that Jefferson would be president and Burr would be Vice President. Jeffersons election lead to many important US events such as the creation of the 12th amendment in 1804.</div>]]></description>
