A few such speculations include a post-scarcity human civilization, contact and mixing with other alien civilizations, and technological advancements such as teleporters and warp drives. Among the many popular themes are how we deal with things that are different than us and the nature of human exploration.

It uses science fiction and horror to explore themes of corporate greed, human nature, and the dangers of the unknown as groups up in space explore unknown areas that lead them into dangerous and frightening situations with unknown species.

this is speculative fiction because it makes an idea of another verison of our world exisits but in this version ppl have button eyes. And that theres an enitity that can eat souls throught sowing buttons into peoples eyes. She learns to be more appreciative of her world even if its not perfect its still better then it being fake.

Persona is a series of video games created by Kasura Hashino. The speculative part of it is what if there was a cognitive world where we could alter peoples hearts and thoughts? Especially the hearts of corrupt individuals. It is a commentary on the corrupt aspects of Japanese society, as well as society as a whole. It tackles things such as politics, late-stage capitalism, and mental health. The Phantom Thieves "take hearts" of corrupt individuals, causing them to confess to their crimes with their own mouth. However, in their attempt to bring justice to the world, they encounter moral issues and people who try to stop them due to the "God of Control," and their own corrupt motives. The final boss is the "God of Control," created by the people, which represents peoples lack of hope for the world and fear of taking action against corrupt powers, they accept their fate and don't strive for change. It also represents the unfair conditions that have lead to this lack of change, but no matter how difficult we most fight back.

The world of the game takes place in a far future, where humanity has left Earth and lives in space, with the species' governments being composed largely of massive, faceless corporations. The game also features technology far beyond anything currently possible, and is set on an alien planet covered near-fully in water. The story of Subnautica, while largely in the background, focuses on both the current-day human society who travels to planets and harvests them for everything they're worth, but also a previous intelligent race on the planet of Subnautica that had a run in with a virus, and would use, abuse, and entrap the natural life of the planet to try and cure it, but in their attempt to save themselves by encasing life on the planet, they would doom themselves. Subnautica overall does has very strong environmental messages in it's story, even if the story is more of an excuse to enjoy the world of the game. The story shows how a civilization in the past made grave mistakes trying to save themselves, and how the current humans in the universe are on a similar path. this game also is prettyyyyy scary

The Wild Robot by Peter Brown, it has a sentient robot who is so advanced that they can decipher the language of wild animals. As well as robots that can fly/move very smoothly on their own without human control, and robots that can run purely on solar energy. The thing the movie forces the audience to confront is their over reliance on technology, lack of love and respect for nature and its beauty, and their pessimism about life and people.

Undertale is set in a world of monsters who have magical powers, this is classic fantasy. The story revolves around a human child who falls down the infamous mountain and into this world, interacting with the mythical characters. Even though this is a fantasy story, it also shows scientific and technological elements. The monsters in the underground are advanced in technology, and characters use concepts such as the power of their souls in a scientific way.

The game uses a non-realistic way of exploring themes related to free will, making choices, and morality. The story highlights the players’ ability to save and reset, which directly addresses the speculative part of the story.
