  • There are two types of moderation, teacher and student. 
    1. Teacher moderation refers to when teachers of various experience levels and across various year levels come together to compare their students work with examples from curriculum. 
    2. Student moderation is the process of a student self-identifying their success in an activity by comparing it to explicit rubrics, other work samples, or success criteria. 
  • The underlying purpose of moderation is to make better decisions. Better means more consistent, valid and evidence based. 
  • Feedback is useless unless it is acted upon by the student.
