There are SOOO many different programs around the district and the school that all reach out to benefit the learning of diverse learners. While not very many of the students in my area are racially diverse, there is still a high diversity of experience and the amount of programs presented, show that this school district really cares about its student's school experience.

From your perspective and based on your review of the school and district websites, what appear to be the strengths of the school and district? What appear to be the areas in need of improvement?

From my online and in person research, I can tell that Lakes Middle School's strength is that is is very student oriented. There are so many posters around the school promoting spirit week and mental health day. There is also art of encouragement and art made by the students all over the walls. The teachers wait outside their classrooms in order to welcome students in and the class I'm in, offers apples to kids who do not get free lunch.

From what I can tell from the district website, putting students first is also the center of attention for all the Coeur d'Alene schools. While I cannot get the same amount of research from a website as I get from in person interaction, the district putts first, programs and extra curriculars, along with providing aid and comfort for any student in need.

As far as improvement goes, it is hard to say. As long as children are learning to be good humans, along with learning reading and math, I would say the district, and specifically Lakes Middle School, are doing a pretty good job.
