This can mean that Emily is looking for some kind of happiness during a cold time of year. This relates to the Gothic /Romantic characteristic of "reflects on nature to gain spiritual wisdom or moral development" because it seems to me that she has gone outside because she's been confined by her house all winter. The meaning of the quote "When it comes, the landscape listens-" means that Dickinson escapes her normal life to go out and see what's happening in nature. This quote could also relate to the characteristic of "shuns civilization and seeks wild, untouched nature".  The meaning of  the quote "Where the Meanings, are-" signifies that there is a lot of meaning and importance in nature. The quote "Winter Afternoons-" shows that this type of winter gloominess has been taking place for a long time, for many winter afternoons.  Dickinson sees that when the spring comes after the long winter she'll be happier. She also may be thinking that the deeper we get into winter the darker things are becoming. Overall the entire poem has pieces of Gothic literature as well as pieces of Romantic literature.
