The duo met at school in France as teenagers in 1987 and shared a passion for music. After 4 years of knowing each other, the duo formed an instrumental indie pop band called Darling. After creating music together with Darling for a few years, the duo became Daft Punk. They reached significant popularity in the late 1990’s house movement with France, and only continued with success in years ahead. 

Daft Punk has 8 albums, including their soundtrack to Tron: Legacy, and a wide variety of singles. They have collaborated with major pop artists such as Pharrell Williams and the Weeknd. 

Daft Punk won a grammy for best dance/electronica album, album of the year, and best engineered album, non-classical for their album Random Access Memories in 2013 which featured the song “Get Lucky", which won Grammys for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Record of the Year.
