It all starts in rats. Then the fleas come in. They suck the blood from rats and  start to choke on the blood. This happens because the abdomen of the flea does not let the blood go down. Then the fleas go to the humans and bite them and suck their blood, but since the fleas were choking on the rat's blood, now they vomit the rat blood into the human and  the human is infected.

Eliminate fleas from your home and avoid touching infected tissues, materials, or body fluids from a plague infected person or animal.

make up what immunologists call the "innate" immune system. They are the first to respond to a bacterial invasion. The Plague (in any form) requires urgent hospital treatment with strong antibiotics. 

The Human that is infected with the plague has to be treated with a medical Professional.

The Plague was highly contagious in the 13 & 14th Centuries. Now doctors know how to contain the disease so it won't spread  that frequently. It is less common.
