President Roosevelt made a move that intensified in July 1940 when he cut off shipments of scrap iron, steel, and aviation fuel to Japan even as he allowed American oil to continue flowing to the empire. Due to the intense tensions between the United States and Japan, this move was a threat to Japan, who wanted to expand the pacific.
Japan refused to cede any of its newly acquired territory, and the United States insisted that Japan immediately withdraw its troops from China and Indochina.

On November 26, 1941, long-standing positions were presented to Japan by the United Sates. However, Admiral Yamamoto Isoroku had devised a plan that would aim to destroy the US Pacific Fleet base at Pearl Harbor. On December 7th, in the Hawaiian Island of Oahu, Americans had a mentality that nothing bad would happen to the not fully attended ships. Moreover, at around 7:30 Japan started firing down at the US ships causing much damage to the land as well. This went on for 2 hours causing much panic and damage towards the Americans and soldiers.

In my opinion, the United States should have the mindset of declaring war with Japan on a battlefield. Japan decided to unexpectedly strike where innocent people were living. Due to the attack much was left damaged. Many family lost a father, mother, sister, brother, and child. Many resources and ways of escape were destroyed. Those innocent people were left empty. The US should respond by declaring war on those involved with the attack. Killing innocent people, even children will be incredibly cruel.

Rommel took command of German forces in North Africa in February 1941. He earned the nickname the “Desert Fox” after achieving stunning early victories there. After the Allied victory in North Africa, Rommel returned to Europe and took command of the defenses in Normandy. One of the most widely debated questions about Rommel remains that of the depth of his conviction in Nazism.

He spent the remainder of the afternoon receiving updates and writing the informations that he would deliver to Congress the following day. Roosevelt focused on uniting the nation behind a war many had hoped to avoid. The innocent lost their lives due to this deadly attack. The following days would lead to a deadly war.

Good morning, it is June 23, 1945, today’s news is on the invasion on the shores of Okinawa. American soldiers landed on the shore of Okinawa on April 1, 1945. Thoughts of difficulty ran through the minds of U.S. troops, however there was little resistance, making it easy for the U.S. to get their troops and supplies ashore. Taking action, the U.S. secured the Kadena and Yotana airfields, although when heading into the island, the U.S. encountered Japanese troops, along with their Kamikaze attacks. Kamikaze-were Japanese suicide pilots who crashed their aircraft into an enemy fleet in the Pacific Ocean during WW2, and attached to each aircraft was a 250-kg bomb. The Kamikaze attacks began in October 1944, at a time when the war was looking increasingly bleak for the Japanese. They lost several key battles, many of their best pilots were killed, their aircraft became obsolete, and they lost control of their aviation. Almost all Army Kamikaze pilots were between 17 and 22 during the Okinawa campaign in 1945. 16 years was the age of the youngest kamikaze pilot to die in a suicide attack. They believed that dying for Japan and their emperor was very honorable. Japan was in extreme fuel shortage, but Japan did not stop attacking kamikazes in order to protect Okinawa somehow. But after the U.S. forces occupied Okinawa, Japan quit attacking kamikaze. About 3,800 kamikaze pilots died during the war, and more than 7,000 naval personnel were killed by kamikaze attacks. Thousands of people died from both sides but the U.S. won. This battle was important because it was the last land they needed to control, so they could go against Japan. Launching a successful invasion here, meant they were just one step away from Japan. This war ended but there was no sign that the Japanese surrendered. Five interesting facts from the Okinawa are 1.It was the largest amphibious assault of the Pacific War, 2. Japanese defenders occupied fortified bunkers, 3. The Royal Navy provided support, 4. Japanese air forces launched over 1000 kamikaze attacks, 5. Casualties were high.

On June 7, 1944, the life of Joseph Moses Lang and his family would forever change. June 7th was supposed to be a very memorable day for Joseph, however, him and his family were transported to the most horrific camp, Auschwitz. The conditions on the cattle car and trains were terrible.

On arriving at the destination, Joseph and his family were told to get off, including the others with them. Nazi soldiers separated those who are strong and able to do labor, and those who were weak like disabled people, women, and children. Those who were "weak" would be taken into a chamber, where they thought they were getting a shower, but in reality toxic gas would be thrown on them and that would be the last time they would breathe. Joseph and his loved one Meir were the only ones to make it out from selection alive, however the selection would be the last time they would ever see their mother and sister.

As the Nazi soldiers went through a process of sorting out the strongest workers, many like Joseph knew they weren’t, so lying would be the only way to save their lives. You would stay alive or either be led into death. "Lying” would be a life-saver for some of the Jews. They knew that lying would save them from being cruelly beaten or killed. This shows us that no matter what a Jew said, the Nazi would still be

Many of the Jews would be sent from camps to camps. This lets us know that there were many other camps with other people suffering under the control of the Nazis. As Joseph returned back to the camp he was originally sent to, he was sprayed with a toxic chemical. That is proof of how cruel and inhuman they were treated. The result from that inhuman action, made Joseph suffer with skin cancer, that would probably get worse with all the labor having to be done outside.

Facing harsh winter snow, many people were getting sick, having to work without shoes in the snow or with sandals as foot wear. Joseph’s loved one Meir was one who got taken to the infirmary, and after that Joseph could not keep track of where he was.
