This will prevent digestive enzymes from reaching the intestines to be able to break down food. C.F can be caused by mutations in a single gene. Since 1989 when the Gene was discovered there has been over 900 reported mutations of this single gene. People that do not have C.F, C.F.T.R proteins are used to allow cells to release different ions. On the other hand this protein is useless to people with C.F as the cells do not release the ions. On solution that could possibly cure C.F is Gene Therapy. Gene Therapy targets the cause of the disease not the symptoms, that way the problem will be eliminated in it's entirety. scientists have removed this problem by adding a normal cell to the cf cell. Many studies have been conducted to try and figure out how this could travel. Researchers are currently using nebulizers to test and see if the disease can travel through air. Scientists have realized that they need to spread their research  to the public so they put together an organization called Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Therapeutics (CFFT) located in Chapel Hill N.C, This center holds all the research about C.F 
Needed to Find a cure for the disease.
