"Old Sally kept saying, 'I know that boy from somewhere.'" pg. 140

Sally saw a boy she knew in the lobby of the movie theatre, and kept saying "I know him from somewhere". This annoys Holden, and tells her to go give him a soul kiss. Holden criticized George as he always does with phonies. He thought that the entire conversation Sally and George had was phonies.

"Here's my idea. How would you like to get the hell out of here?" pg. 146

Holden told Sally that they should move to Vermont or Massachusetts and get away from everything. Sally got uncomfortable because Holden was yelling at her. Holden said she was a pain in his ass, and she really hit the celling. Sally went home alone, and didn't want Holden to take her home. Holden was mad at himself for saying something like that to a girl, and wasn't even sure why he said any of it in the first place. Holden is not in a good mental state.
