This is my favorite because of the plot and characters. A brief description; Every summer, Isabel goes to the beach house with Jeremiah & Conrad, her mother's friend's son's. She has a crush on Conrad, but it also involves a love triangle with Jeremiah. She is often left out from the boys and her brother, but the summer is different and she changes. There is a lot of drama too.

A powerful Dystopian Fantasy, I love this book for many reasons. The writing itself is poetry, and the words swell me up with hope and love. The plot is a powerful jumble of paths that intertwine and collide for a final climax. The characters are loveable, and each has their own personality. It's a book about hope versus despair.
Synopsis: There's an evil witch in a forest next to a futuristic yet Medieval city state. The government demands sacrifice to appease the witch. Every year, a baby is left in the forest for the witch. However, nothing is as it seems. The witch is actually kind, and does not know why babies arrive in her forest. She takes them to the Free Cities beyond the forest in kindness.
SPOILER ALERT
One day, she accidentally feeds a baby pure magic. She decides she must raise the baby as her own, and as the baby grows up, changes occur in the world around them. Individual paths begin to grow, and interactions between a squad of characters furthers the plot as they all come to realise the true enemy, and defeat the true witch: a lady of power in the government, who has the whole city controlled by fear. As hope grows, the characters are able to overcome their past and save their city.

Her parents who are busy and she´s slowly become ungrateful for since they moved in don´t pay enough attention to her. She enters the door as the mice in the house tell her to do when she´s all alone. The door leads to a mirror copy of the house she moved into but everything seemed perfect including the other parents and other neighbors. Where she becomes deceived.
This book is my favorite because it conveys what bravery is and what people usually mistaken it for. That it is not doing something scary but doing something you know will be scary.

The. Single. Greatest. Series. Of. All. Time. The Hunger Games is an absolutely amazing trilogy of dystopian stories. What starts out as a pretty simple concept in a story in a dystopian setting that's about a bunch of kids killing each other in a bloody battle to the death turns into much more. This story dives into the consequences of what could happen to a divided country, and that sometimes, breaking the rules can turn out to be the right thing to do. Each book in the series also has epic endings that I won't spoil, but I would highly recommend the series to anyone and everyone.

This is my favorite series of all time for a lot of reasons, but here's a couple why I liked it so much. One reason I liked the Hunger Games is because all the people I have recommended this series to have enjoyed it, whether they liked reading or hated it. There's just something special about the series that intrigues people, no matter what their views of reading are. The second reason why I enjoyed the Hunger Games so much is because I literally didn't put it down. I started reading it one morning, at about 10, and the next thing I knew it was 5 in the evening, I had read through lunch not to mention most of the afternoon, and I was about 2/3 of the way through the book. There's something about the Hunger Games that just kept me reading and reading, and that's a special feeling that I don't often feel.

The Strange Case Of Origami Yoda Series

For my favorite book series, this was one of those books that stuck in my mind. The Strange Case of Origami Yoda series was very quirky, goofy, and very interesting to read. It includes lots of Star Wars references and used it very nicely. The series was very creative and thought outside the box. These are realistic fiction book set from many different perspectives and is executed very well. With each entry, you can tell there is a personality change whether it would be the type of style, the font, grammar, or just the stand-out comedy. The plot of the first book is that some middle school kids have the school weirdo named Dwight. He is always acting strange, his shoes are always untied, and wears an Origami Yoda finger puppet. He speaks with the puppet in a really bad Yoda impression. He'd say Origami Yoda would give you advice in a scratchy voice, and some student who is in a tough situation will ask him for advice. Dwight/Origami Yoda would tell him something that sounds crazy and absurd and some dude would be like "No way man". The student follows the advice anyway and saves him from getting embarrassed. Now word gets around, and people are asking O.Y to give them advice on EVERYTHING. Dwight's friends Tommy, Kellen, and Harvey tell each story with a case file trying to find out the question, IS ORIGAMI YODA REAL(and if he is using the force to find the advice)? They do this because each piece of advice O.Y gives turns out to be right, but the person talking through the finger puppet is Dwight, the school weirdo. Case after case the books each tell an interesting story with lots of doodles to picture the situation. The book series ends off with a satisfying ending (Emperor Pickletine Rides the Bus, not shown). I like these types of books because it pushes that feel that, "Hey, is Origami Yoda real?!", and if he uses the force. I encourage you to read this series, I hope you enjoy it, and May The Force Be With You, always...….

While It was IMPOSSIBLE to pick just one book/series, I settled on the Heroes of Olympus. This 5 book series follows the aftermath of the Titan war that happened in the first series. The Lost Hero tells of Jason, who has lost his memory entirely--except the fact that he has a friend named Leo and a girlfriend named Piper. He awakes on a bus, and is confused. This bus is taking the students of the Wilderness School--a school for "bad kids", as Leo puts it. Together, the three team up to gain Jason's memory--and, to figure out what in the world is going on. The Son of Neptune follows Percy, who has, mysteriously, also lost all of his memories. He only remembers one name: Annabeth. He does not remember why, but all of a sudden these monsters start attacking him. He eventually finds himself inside Camp Jupiter, a training ground for demigods like him. Percy meets two demigods--Hazel, a daughter of Pluto, and Frank, a son of Mars. Together, the three must figure out how to get Percy's memory back, and also, who in the world is Annabeth?

I am still reading this book but so far it's my favorite book because it can be relatable, but also personal. What I mean by this is because maybe someone that is in a relationship or is new to a relationship can learn a thing or two from Lara Jean and her experiences. This type of experience can be good but also end dramatically bad but that's how special love is because you never know what's going to happen, until you understand. That also makes the book even more interesting.

The Weird Watsons are living in Flint , Michigan where all the children go to Clark Elementary.

Byron is in sixth grade. Kenny, the narrator, is in fourth grade, and

Joetta (Joey), their little sister, is in kindergarten. At school, Kenny gets picked up by bullies, especially the fourth grade bully Larry Dunn.Until this kid Rufus moves from Arkansas to Flint, things aren't looking great for Kenny. Rufus is poor and ragged, and he talks with a Southern accent, so at first, Kenny is excited to get somebody new to bully the kids. But Rufus and Kenny are becoming friends instead. Momma and Dad announce that the entire family will go on a trip to Birmingham (where Momma comes from) to see Grandma Sands, and Byron will have to stay with her for the entire summer or until he learns how to behave.

A couple of days later,

Joey goes to neighboring church.

A bomb goes off in the church

while she is away from her fam.

The whole family runs down to find her, but there is no place where they can find their little girl. Kenny thinks that this time the Wool Pooh got Joey and he's

afraid he's going to get him, too, so he's running back home. Everyone is quite upset about the bombing but Kenny has the hardest time. He begins to hide behind the couch, and will not talk to anyone. Byron appears to have really changed and Kenny is

checking in and trying to help him feel better. Then one day, Kenny just loses it, and uncontrollably starts crying.

Presley Oshiro

This book is about one of Marvel's most famous and well known antagonists, the god of mischief, Loki. The book reveals more of Loki's backstory to when he and Thor were kids in Asgard. It uncovers the hardships Loki had to deal with as a child and the pressure he was put under with being the prince of Asgard and constantly being compared to his brother, who is the exact opposite of him, Thor. It shows how Loki always had to hide the fact that he was a sorcerer and feel the need to prove himself as heroic and capable like how a prince of Asgard should be. This story's plot was very entertaining and as a big fan of Marvel this story portrayed his character perfectly.

My favorite book is This Is Where It Ends by Marieke Nijkamp and it's about this seemingly casual day at a high school that quickly turns into one of the worst days these students (and teachers) will have in their life. Ironic enough, death, life, a meaning for it all, everything blurs together when one of the main character's brother comes back to school, but not to learn, no, he's back and looking to teach the students there something. But how far will he go to teach and be heard?

This book is one of my top picks because the whole time I was hanging on the edge of my seat, anxiously waiting for what would happen next and that's one of the best (and worst) feelings to me as a reader. I literately couldn't put this book down and since it was so short I finished it in a matter of hours. The book had so many concepts I love to read like multiple points of view, lgbtq+ representation, it was just a spectacular read and I recommend it to anyone who's in the market for a darker non-fiction read.

This book emphasizes the love and bond between a boy and his dogs. From a young age, Billy Colman, the antagonist, has always dreamed of being a raccoon hunter. On the same degree he has always wanted hunting dogs of his own. He gets both these wishes in the surprising and fortunate tale of his story. These dogs are no ordinary dogs, from battling mountain lions, to getting lost in a blizzard, these dogs give Billy everything things he dreams of, and more. With a tear jerking end, this book is without a doubt a favorite of mine.

My favorite book series is Heartland. Heartland is about a girl Amy, who rehabilitates horses in a way no one else can. Her mom died in the very first few scenes of the book. Amy wanted to rescue a horse and it was raining and thundering as soon as they got on the road. Amy's mom's name is Marion and she was the founder of heartland she taught amy everything she knows. The horse she rescued on that trip was the very first time Amy ever did any horse work by herself his name is Spartan. He was not easy. Amy deals with family drama as well as horse drama.

The Horse and His Boy is the 5th installment in the legendary Chronicles of Narnia series, gaining readers like my self even after 70 years after printing. Daring fights, a race for time, beautiful writing, it would be a shame to give a summary of the book, lest I spoil the book for you. Just imagine a world where the most ordinary servants can become heroes, and behind every great hero is a great villain. Picture this my friend, and you may see the great land of Narnia. Really, all of the books are amazing, but The Horse and His Boy is a standalone book. You can read this and it makes sense, without having to read the other books. I liked the books, and now I love it.

"Outliers: The Story of Success" is a nonfiction work by Malcolm Gladwell, in which he explores the factors that influence the prospects of success and achievement. Time, talent, luck, opportunities... perhaps every aspect of the world we live in is not as fair as they seem to be. How were Jewish immigrants able to build a steady life when they first arrived at the US? Why were Bill Joy and Bill Gates so successful in computer technology? Is there a reason why being born even two or three years from your own birth date can make such a drastic difference in your life? Intelligence or talent can only be of benefit when it is grown with the right opportunities, and for those who miss it, there may never be another chance. There is no why anymore- this is how our society works. Still want to succeed? Then keep in mind one thing: in the world we live in, timing is everything.

I've been an incredibly active reader for the past 5, almost 6 years now, and in all my years of reading, "The Keeper of the Lost Cities," series/book by Shannon Messenger has topped them all. Don't just take my word for it, as here's a "brief" synopses of this series/book (It's a book and a series, but let's just focus on book 1). Sophie Foster is a young 12 year old who is vastly separate from society, in more ways than one. See, she isn't your average preteen, as she's a child prodigy, a young high school senior that had just been accepted with full scholarship into Yale University. But it doesn't end there, as for most of her life, she was able to uncontrollably read minds of the people around her. People hated her, insulted her, and never let her fit into society as an anomaly. Until one unique day, when she was brought into a world of infinite possibilities, with people just like her. It was named The Lost Cities. The world of elves. It seemed to be perfect, with no famine, homeless, pollution, violence, or anything harmful at all. It was beautiful, like it was plucked straight out of a fairy tale. It was where she belonged. But sadly for young Sophie, it was all going to change. Dangers would emerge, rebellions would be brewed, and friendships would be tested. It would be up for Sophie Foster to prevent further chaos across her new home, but is she strong enough? She has to be, or everything she loves would fall. She is the keeper of the Lost Cities.

Whats best about the book is that you can feel all the emotion and all that maniac has gone through. Another reason is that their is so much detail that is put into this book that it feels like your inside the book living what maggee is living. These are two important reasons why maniac maggee is my favorite book.

In one part of the book, Bod gets kidnapped by a former U.S president and others, but it still isn't the weirdest part of this book. This entire book is weird yet so interesting, and that is why I like it so much.

One day she attends a small neighborhood party with a close friend. Soon the party was interrupted by gunshots from a gang fight nearby so her friend offered to drive her home that night. While they were driving, a white cop pulled them over for absolutely no reason but they followed the police's orders anyways. While her friend Khalil was getting checked and was told not to move, he opened the door to check up on Starr and got fatally shot right in front of her and through out the story she fought for justice for her friend and other black people. This book talks about real world problems that is going on, till this day and I found it very educational and it really captures the struggles of being black in a cruel society.

This is a great graphic novel to read. The author Raina Telgemeier has lots of good books you can read from, but Ghosts has to be my favorite. Ghosts is about these siblings that move to this new town. Catrina who is the oldest sibling was not excited to move but, they had to because her younger sibling Maya is very sick. The two sister become friends with their new neighbor Carlos. He shows them the towns culture, and ghosts, which Catrina didn't believe in at first. But, overall this is such a good book to read, it's just very heart warming. - Viviana Hernandez

This book is about a seventeen year-old girl named Abby Lunde who is trying to keep her biggest secret away from her friends. Her secret is that she is living on the streets due to her Mom losing her job. Due to that, her Mom gave all the money they had left to pay for Abby's school which was for rich people and if she let her secret out, she would be afraid of getting embarrassed and bullied. The divide between rich and poor in high school is painfully obvious, and the stress of never knowing where they're sleeping or where they'll find their next meal is taking its toll on the whole family.

This is my favorite book because it's kind of like an mystery and I love mystery. This book really encouraged me to just be yourself and to not let people judge you. Just because Abby was poor, her friends didn't change the way they were and treated her the same way they treat everyone else and I really like how the author does that.

When they both realize that Jessie is skipping a grade and is in the same class as Even, they both feel insecure about different things. Jessie is insecure about being able to fit in with the older kids, and Even is insecure about Jessie embarrassing him. Jessie thought that Even would help her fit in, but he was too mad at her. Their anger at each other brought them to make a wager, who could make the most money from a lemonade stand and the winner would get the losers money. During the lemonade war, they both come up with different strategies to win, read the book to find out more. I liked this book because it had a lot of good detail and the story was relatable. A war between a sibling relationship is like me with my brothers. The story also had a creative wager/challenge that Jessie and Even decided to do. That is why I likes this book.

Each character is so versatile and interesting, with their humorous, deceptive, and desperate personalities, they truly show how society is structured. The storytelling is paced and suspenseful, the world building is intricate yet understandable, and I simply love how human the story is.

This book is about Percy Jackson, a son of Poseidon, who suddenly appeared at Camp Jupiter, the Roman Camp of demigods. He forgot who he was due to Hera, queen of Olympus and goddess of marriage and birth. He meets with Hazel Levesque, daughter of Hades (or Pluto in Roman), and Frank Zhang, who hasn't been claimed by his god mother/father. They find out that Alcyoneus, giant created to defeat Poseidon, has captured Thanatos, god of death, and the protector of the Doors of Death, which separate the world from the underworld. Percy, Frank and Hazel go on a quest to free Thanatos and defeat Alcyoneus before the Feast of Fortuna.

I like this book because it was the first book I read of the Heroes of Olympus, and because I love the plot of the story. There's so many plot twists that you never know what's going to happen next. It is also action-filled, there is never a dull moment in The Son of Neptune. So if you need a book to read, I would definitely recommend this one if you like the Greek and Roman Mythology and action genres.

Gone With The Wind is a book with love and tragedy. It's main theme is survival. Living durning the time of a war that divides nations, Scarlett O'Hara enjoys a lavish life wanting 3 husbands. She would do anything to keep her status which includes marrying the wrong men. But life is not always so simple she releases standing on the brim of her war torn home. She ends the book with a better understanding of life which is not all flowers and sunshine. There's dirt under grass.
I like this book so much due to the theme "survival" being in everything we see. Why do we work? To survive. Everything we do is for survival. Life is hard and thats why I like this book. -Anh Dao

I do not have a favorite book because there are so many great books out there. However, this is one of my favorite reads. The Hunger Games is a Dystopian Novel about these annual games called the hunger games in which twenty four contestants between the age of twelve to sixteen are selected fight to the death. Katniss Everdeen (16-years-old) witnesses her sister get chosen to fight in the games she takes her sister's place.
I love the Hunger Games so much because it has such a climatic and suspenseful storyline following the journey of a young teenage protagonist. Katniss is such an example of bravery and intelligence as she risks her life for justice in Panem (her country) and her loved ones.

Both of them try to get attention from their parents, but they hate how each of them act. As time goes by, they go on a camping trip, they didn't like it that much and wanted to leave immediately. As they drove home, a little accident happened on the way and their parents had to get help. While they waited, a slithery animal came in their car and both of the girls were in shock. They thought of a plan together and quickly came out. During that time in the car, they talked out their differences and hugged it out.

After he stumbles into the human world, his heart turns to stone and he goes on a life changing journey.

This is my favorite book because how the story unfolds is very satisfying. The words that the author uses to tell the story are not usual words you wold use in everyday life. I like that because it sets the story and gives more descriptions. Lump's real identity gets reveled in the end and I'm sure no one saw it coming. I would recommend this to everyone.

A peculiar girl with a very negative outlook on life and who is very self cautious, named Agatha, was best friends with a very upbeat and positive girl named Sophie. In their rickety old town, there were annual kidnappings of two children, one with who is wicked and one who is pure hearted. The kidnapper's identity was later revealed as the School Master, the principal of the fabled School for Good and Evil. This legendary school taught ordinary students to become all of our favorite infamous villains and brave heroes. This polar opposite friends were chosen to be taken to the school. However, when they thought that Agatha would be dropped into Evil and Sophie would be dropped into Good, it was switched. Now the girls must learn to fit in and survive a completely unfamiliar environment and abide with strict and unforgiving rules, all the while battling to get home, win a boy's heart, and learn who they truly were.
I loved this book because it provided an alternative Disney set in a similar fairy tale world that looked like Disney, but had a dystopian theme with much more gore and carnage. These types of books are very entertaining to read with many twists and turns that anybody with a complicated relationship with a friend can relate to.

The book, Fire World, by Chris d'Lacey is about a young boy named David Rain. Set in the alternate world between Earth and Ki:mera, Co:pern:ica, David Rain is suffering from severe sleep disorders and night terrors. His family is ordered to take David to an anomalous librarium which holds a mysterious tapestry guarded by mythical firebirds, one of the only two creatures that reside on Co:pern:ica. Co:pern:ica is a dystopian-ish world governed by the all powerful Higher. With near complete control over the entire world, all has to obey their commands sent by an agent of the Higher. Disobedience earns a one way trip to the barren wasteland of the Dead Lands. David was found to be an ec:centric: able to construct objects into reality using his mind. An agent of the Higher, Aunt Gweneth the Aunt Su:perior, seeks to destroy David in hopes to stop and gain the power of the only being capable of halting her in her hunger for infinite power on Earth. David finds himself wandering the Librarium's infinite hallways to uncover the secrets of the universes.

This is my favorite book as it shows what wonderful and corrupt things a group could do with infinite power. It displays the never-ending possibilities of what one could manifest with their imagination.
