         <description><![CDATA[<div>He reigned over Russia for around 43 years from 1682 till his death in 1725. He initiated a wide range of economic, social, political, administrative, educational and military reforms which ended the dominance of traditionalism and religion in Russia and initiated its westernization. He was determined to reform the domestic structure of Russia. He was able to implement sweeping reforms aimed at modernizing Russia. Heavily influenced by his advisors from Western Europe, Peter reorganized the Russian army along modern lines and dreamed of making Russia a maritime power.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>What are the advantages/disadvantages of having an absolute monarch? The advantages are having someone who can take care of the country, who is wise. A disadvantage is having a monarch that doesn't know what they are doing and doesn't try contributing to the country in any type of way.<br>Can a strong central government help ensure order within?<br>A strong central government should help ensure order within. The reason why this is true is because they have power and are in control of the economy and the problems happening in the country.<br>How were monarchs able to establish absolute control?<br>They were able to establish absolute control by assisting with the economy and helping in wars. They also did somethings that they really aren't supposed to be doing like serving in war like Peter the Great did.<br>How did absolute monarchs use divine right to justify their absolute rule? They did that by passing it down to their children. By doing so, they also believe that the power comes from god himself and so they plan to build large armies to have a lot of power</div>]]></description>
