AUTHOR INFORMATION

In 2005, PERPUN was actively involved in some programs that helped Malaysian students and scholars. Malaysian Theses Online (MyTO), E-Repository, Malaysian Gateway to Internet Resources, and Malaysian Union List of Serials are among the efforts (MyULIS). The Malaysian University Libraries & National Library Network (MyUniNet) is the official name for the PERPUN portal, which may be found at http://perpun.upm.edu.my/. The MyUniNet portal represents PERPUN members' collaboration and wise partnership. The creation of the portal demonstrates PERPUN's dedication to delivering scholarly information resources through a single point of entry. The portal provides access to MyTO, which lists the theses collections in all public and selected private university libraries, and MyULIS, which includes the titles of all serial publications to which the libraries have subscribed. MyULIS is one of the reference sites for obtaining information and materials via interlibrary loan services (ILL). Malaysian Information System Librarians (MySyL) and Malaysian Online E-Resources Consortium are two Special Interest Groups (SIG) involved in the creation and implementation of MyUniNet Portal (MOLEC).

AUTHOR INFORMATION

The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization. It aims to promote worldwide cooperation in education, research, and culture to promote peace. UNESCO's programs help fulfill the Sustainable Development Goals outlined in the 2030 Agenda, which the United Nations General Assembly adopted in 2015. The governments of the European countries opposing Nazi Germany and its allies convened in the United Kingdom in 1942 for the Conference of Allied Ministers of Education (CAME). Even though World War II was far from done, those countries were looking for strategies and means to reconstitute their education institutions once peace was restored. The initiative swiftly gathered traction and took on a worldwide nature. New governments, notably the United States, opted to participate. A United Nations Conference for the Establishment of an Educational and Cultural Organization (ECO/CONF) was convened in London from November 1 to 16, 1945, on the suggestion of CAME. The conflict had only recently finished when the congress called. It brought together delegates from forty-four countries who decided to form an organization that would exemplify a genuine culture of peace. The new organization, in their opinion, was created to establish the "intellectual and moral unity of mankind" and so avert the advent of another world war.

INTRODUCTION/HISTORY

On November 16, 1945, the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) was established. The General Conference and the Executive Board run UNESCO, which has 195 members and 8 associate members. The Secretariat, led by the Director-General, is in charge of putting these two organizations' decisions into action. The organization's headquarters are in Paris, and it has more than 50 branch offices across the world.

MISSION & VISSION

Political and economic arrangements of governments are not enough to secure the lasting and sincere support of the peoples. Peace must be founded upon dialogue and mutual understanding. Peace must be built upon the intellectual and moral solidarity of humanity.

OBJECTIVES/FUNCTIONS

UNESCO is a United Nations Specialized Agency. The LONDON CONFERENCE established its constitution in November 1945, and it went into force on November 4, 1946, after 20 states had presented acceptance papers. Furthermore, UNESCO's main objective is to contribute to peace and security throughout the globe by encouraging international cooperation through in order to improve education, science, culture, and communication universal respect for the rule of law, the rule of law, and the rule of law
The people's rights and fundamental liberties are affirmed.
throughout the globe, regardless of colour, gender, language, or religion, by the United Nations Charter.

In support of this objective, UNESCO's principal functions are:
• To promote intellectual cooperation and mutual understanding among people through all means of mass communication
• To give fresh impulse to popular education and to the spread of culture
• To maintain, increase and diffuse knowledge

INVOLVEMENT
Membership of UNESCO is governed by Articles II and XV of the Constitution and by rules 98 to 101 of the Rules of Procedure of the General Conference. Membership of the United Nations carries with it the right to membership of UNESCO. States that are not members of United Nations may be admitted to UNESCO, upon recommendation of the Executive Board, by a two-thirds majority vote of the General Conference. There are 193 member countries and 11 associate members of UNESCO as of January 2020. For certain of their dependent regions, some members have separate National Organizing Committees (NOCs). Non-independent states make up associate members.

PRODUCT/SERVICES

UNESCO sponsors projects that improve literacy, provide technical training and education, advance science, protect independent media and press freedom, preserve regional and cultural history, and promote cultural diversity.

ORGANIZATIONS BENEFITS

1. Each study examines the benefits and drawbacks of a certain education effort in a specific country. The purpose of this paper, written in a concise, easy-to-read format, is to stimulate discussion on its implications for education policy, planning, and management.

CONCLUSIONS

Finale, a total of 191 countries have joined UNESCO. The organization is based in Paris, with over 50 local offices and several institutions around the world. UNESCO’s five main programs are: education, natural sciences, human and social sciences, culture, and communication and information. Projects receiving UNESCO sponsorship include writing and reading skills, technical, and training programs for teachers; international science programs; promotion of freedom of speech and free media; local cultural history projects, promotion of cultural diversity in the world; international cooperation agreements for world culture and natural heritage and for the preservation of human rights; and attempts to consolidate international networks.

Since then, IFLA has had a long and fruitful career as the global voice of the library and information profession.

INTRODUCTION/HISTORY

The International Federation of Library Groups (IFLA) was created on September 30, 1927, in Edinburgh, Scotland, when library associations from 14 European nations and the United States signed a resolution commemorating the Library Association of the United Kingdom's 50th anniversary. The inaugural president was Isak Collin, the director of Sweden's National Library. The first constitution was ratified at the World Congress of Librarianship and Bibliography in Rome in 1929. China, India, Japan, Mexico, and the Philippines were among the first library associations to join in the 1930s, outside of Europe and the United States. By 1958, the organization had grown to include 64 organizations from 42 nations. In 1962, a permanent secretariat was formed. There were 250 members from 52 countries by 1970. In 1971, the secretariat was relocated to The Hague.
