Realistically they can't do very much to help with the rebellion at the moment so at least they're trying to do something right now. And if that's the only thing they can think of to remain faith in the rebellion then why not think it. The only fault is that it might not help them at all with creating a rebellion. Try to stay alive as long as possible to help the rebellion.
