         <description><![CDATA[<div>this started out as individual inquiry. Many goals achieved. we now have marking rubrics for Key skills and each assessment has them included. next step is to develop class charts and then really focus classes and evaluate how the explicit focus develops teh learning.<br>timing of inquiries. each inquiry has a natural life. some are short and some are long. I feel that we should be able to run the natural lenght of the inquiry rather than have an arbitrary time limit. &nbsp;<br>This inquiry worked for me because it was specific to a need. I find that the school/board goals often have little relevance to the needs in the subject I need. the best professional learning I have done over the last few years&nbsp;<br>i would like a more limited focus to PD . ie one or two goals. i feel we have had too many and the plg goal got lost at times.&nbsp;<br>lgo</div>]]></description>

         <title>The Pasifika Mentoring was really worthwhile. The connection with a student was special and very helpful to almost all students involved (from report-backs). Additionally for me as a teacher I learned a lot of things about how Pasifika students think, their culture, their family&#39;s connection with school. I enjoyed attending the talanoa and the Pasifika Awards evening. I learned just how much Pasifika students really appreciate having their teachers at their events, and above all they love teachers watching them at Polyfest. The Pasika PLG had a good mix of time with mentees, events to attend, and discussions with the rest of the PLG members.</title>

         <title>I think it was good that teachers were able to opt in and choose what they want to work on. I would like to spend time working collaboratively  with teachers around planning and revamping units and working together to be innovative teachers. Focus on direct impact on teaching. Liked what STC was doing.</title>

         <title>PLGs should be flexible in length. A person could do two or more in a year, or one over a couple of years. They are a middle of the year focus e.g. Easter to Labour Weekend.</title>

         <title>We loved the creative ideas across the group and it inspired us for next year. We would like to do this in Terms 2 and 3. Too busy at start and end of year. We also felt this would allow PD in Term 1 to be school stuff we needed to do, then our own projects in 2 terms. There were too many interruptions and not enough time this year. It would be good to run the study across 2 years.</title>
