Speech excerpt
-"Number one: America’s economy is not just better than it was eight years ago -- it is the strongest, most durable economy in the world. That’s point number one.
Point number two: We can make it even stronger, and expand opportunity for even more people. But to do that, we have to be honest about what our real challenges are, and we’ve got to make some smart decisions going forward.
Now, Elkhart is a good place to have this conversation, because some of you remember this was the first city I visited as President. We were just a few months into what turned out to be the worst economic crisis of our lifetimes. Our businesses were losing 800,000 jobs a month. Our auto industry was about to go under. Unemployment here would peak at 19.6 percent. That means nearly one in five people here were out of work. And I told you then that I was going to have your back, and we were going to work hard to bring this economy back. " -

Speech excerpt continued

Obama worked on restoring jobs and brought our unemployment rate down. The U.S. added 2.2 million jobs in 2016, on top of 2.7 million jobs gained in 2015, according to the Bureau of Statistics. In fact, there has been growth of at least 2 million jobs in each of President Obama’s last six years in office, and there have been 75 consecutive months of jobs growth, a modern-day record.

The economic stimulus package during his 2008 campaign. Congress approved the $787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment in February 2009.The economic stimulus package ended the Great Recession by spurring consumer spending. It's goal was to save between 900,000 to 2.3 million jobs. Most important, it instilled the confidence needed to boost economic growth.

A national leader exemplifies the morals and values of a country. President Obama exemplified the role of a national leader almost perfectly. He celebrated holidays and socialite events with such pride and joy and he addressed tragedies with empathy. Such as when Obama delivered a statement on the shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.

Being president is an amazing job, not only do you reap the benefits but so do the people around you. You may appoint some of your closest friends, if they have the experience, to jobs in the presidential cabinet. For example when Hillary Clinton ran in the 2016 presidential election, president Obama went out and did some campaigning to help Hillary.

President Obama got approval from Congress to proceed in military action against Syria when Syria used chemical weapons on civilians. U.S. negotiations with Russia led to the signing of a New START (Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty). This image of President Obama should be included in the archive, because this is a significant moment in his presidential career. The signing of this treaty was a huge accomplishment for the Obama administration and made a huge regulation to military action.

President Obama worked with the Cuban President, Raul Castro to normalize foreign policy between the two nations and together they reopened the U.S. Embassy in Havana in July of 2015. Obama and the first family took a trip to Cuba in 2016, making him the first president to visit Cuba in 90 years. Obama and Castro meeting with each other and normalizing the relations between the two nations was an "end to the Cold War" in many people's eyes. This should go in the archive, because Obama did something that no one has done in almost 90 years by simply going to visit Cuba. He was truly a chief diplomat when he was in office and that shouldn't go without being noticed.
