This building, La Casa Rosada (Image Below) is the mansion and office of the leader of Argentina and the rest of the executive branch of the Argentinian government. Like America, Argentina has 3 branches, the Executive, the Judiciary, and the Legislative Branch. The executive branch consists of the President, his cabinet of ministers and the Armed Forces. The President is the commander of the Army. In the legislative branch they have 2 houses. They have the Senate with 72 seats and the Chamber of Deputies with 257 seats. Their Judiciary Branch is very similar to America’s with 9 members of their Supreme Court with Federal and provincial courts (district courts to Americans).

This is the Palace of the Argentine National Congress or the Palacio del Congreso. This is where their legislative branch is located and is where laws are made. The way laws are made in Argentina are pretty much the same to the ways American laws are made. They start out as a bill and one house brings it to the committee that it would fall under and then they bring it in front of the entire house and if they make it approved, then it goes to the other house of congress. If the approve it then it goes to the president and he either signs it or vetoes it. If he signs it, the bill becomes a law. If he vetoes it, then congress can override his veto with ⅔’s of a vote in both houses of Congress.

This where the majority of Argentina’s goods are imported and exported. Argentina was one of the main exports during World War II of beef and other foods for the Allies. Agriculture is Argentina’s main export and source of trade with foreign countries. They are one of the world's main producers of wheat and cotton. The majority of the worlds crops are grown in the Americas and many of these countries make a lot of money even though some have higher export taxes, some of these taxes affect smaller businesses and not large corporations.

Only some Argentinians have nice houses. Most live in apartments and condos. Those who live in the city usually have smaller portions of land and those out farther in the countryside will have a bigger plots of land. It is rare for people to have pools within their property and only the richest can afford luxury houses. Most apartments have a rent of around $13,148 per month for a 900 square foot apartment, with sometimes paying additional for heating and water, which is usually around 2,000 dollars.

One of the main liberators of South America is Simon Bolivar and he helped liberate nearly all of the South American countries from the Spanish.

Diversity, is not a word that is commonly used in Argentina’s countryside, as nearly all of the rural areas in Argentina are Roman Catholic. Although that is the majority in the cities, their are still many different religions in urban and some suburban areas. Although agriculture is the main system of economy, Sunday is a a day where most work is not done as churches are booming. Argentina has been a place of refuge for many in the time of World War I and World War II. Argentina does not experience much terrorism and racism in their country. In catholicism, they believe in Jesus and the Last Supper (image below) where his last meal before he was killed by the Romans.

All religions can be found in other countries, although catholicism is very widespread and was brought to the country by the Spanish and the missionaries that they set up all over the Americas in their colonies. Many do not still stand today, there are only around 5 left in Argentina from the 1500’s. Culture in Argentina is not largely based off religion although some highly religious folk will indeed spend time off of their normal routines.

The Argentinian education system is quite different than the American education system. In Argentina, learning more about choice and families and students have much more leeway when it comes to education. Pre-school can be either 3 or 4 years long for your child and after that you have a choice of 6 years of primary (elementary) school and 6 year of secondary (high) school. Argentina does not really have a middle school. Their School year starts in March and ends in December and they get days off in July for winter break. Most students attend a government-backed school where tuition is free. My grandpa went to the University of La Plata (image below and went to medical school there. Apparently their education system is working because their literacy rate is over 98 percent.
