Its basically when people are placed into certain levels of them being high ranked are low ranked, a high ranked person  would be a king a lower ranked person would be something such as a slave.

This means that royal people and priest that are more important then other people are giving them the top of the social tier because of what they can do. I believe that the next people n the social class are normal people and traders because they still have rights, however they are not treated like kings and priest who can do things that are more important then the normal people and traders can do, putting these people and traders at the second social tier. The last social tier for me are slaves and artisan because they have no freedom or rights unlike other people and they are students as well as workers. Those are the social tiers I would describe for a civilization and so in conclusion the social tier for a civilization for me is kings and priest being at the top, normal people and traders at the middle, and artisans and slaves at the bottom.

So if you live in an apartment 2-3 bedrooms, then you are in the lower class. Say you are in a big house that cost a lot and may not been able to buy just slowly pay it off in the next 4 years then that would be maybe upper middle class. But say you have a mansion, that would mean that you are in the highest class there is mainly because if you can afford a mansion then you would be considered rich in my book. But say if we rewind a little if you were considered the lowest class then you were a pheasent. A phesant then they were treated like trash. But then we go to middle class then you were a priest. That is because the kings owns the kingdom or other things that he/she could have and he/she have tax collecters that collects the tax daily, weekly,or yearly and if the place have a lot of people then the king/queen will have a lot of money for him/her and can buy land for themself. The servents and slaves have the least land and money because they work for someone and get little money that they can use for land.
