         <description><![CDATA[<div>"<em>As Susan Coutin has noted,</em></div><div><em>feelings of belonging arise despite the 'legal nonexistence' of undocumented</em></div><div><em>immigrants. In other words, to feel part of a community is determined not</em></div><div><em>solely by immigration status but also by sentiments influenced by social relationships</em></div><div><em>and cultural beliefs and practices" (14).<br><br>The author not only borrows the key terms to use in his writing, but goes a step further and frames the messaging in the context of his own arguments for later use in the paper.</em></div>]]></description>

In the sections that proceed this, Chavez moves into extending the work of Hall.</em></div>]]></description>
