  • What do you do at Saint Mary's and what do you teach?
    I have been a facilitator in the M.Ed in Teaching and Learning Program since 2001.  In that program we "teach" classroom educators and we facilitate their learning in a wide variety of subjects... I LOVE helping teachers discover new areas for their own growth and helping them discover new resources, tools and ways to implement them.
  • If you could do/be anything for an entire 24-hour day what would it be?
    • Well, today my dream would be to travel to Yosemite National Park, climb Half Dome, and spend the night under the stars there ... better yet, I would spend 24 hours under the night sky there ... but, that isn't how day & night work 😕

    I would spend time with my family, my wife and our two nine-month old puppies.

    I love teaching and learning. I learn so much from my students. I only came to teaching in 2012, a move I wished I made many years sooner. I'm the Director of Career Services & began at Saint Mary's last September. I will be teaching 1 or 2 PD courses related to career development for our undergraduates--hopefully the first one this spring.

    If you could do/be anything for an entire 24-hour day what would it be?
    It would have to be Oregon in the springtime. Start at sunrise at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Co. to tiptoe through the fields & see the mountains.     24 hours I would hike/sit by/hang out at lake Superior with my spouse, a good book and a great cup of coffee. I am Associate Director of Career Services and a certified career coach. I joined the university in late November and truly enjoy my work with students. Our department will be offering Career Development 101, hopefully beginning spring semester.

    If I had 24 hours, I would pick a country that I have not visited and begin the day with a workout, hopefully, a run/walk then join the local people in a popular breakfast place to get a sense of community. Possible destinations are Greece, Iceland, and the Scandinavia area. Then I would spend the day exploring both the tourist musts and local off the beaten path adventures. My 24 hours would be rounded out with an evening escapade and local food.
