It shows how comfortable she is talking about it with the way she was half asleep, meaning she was daydreaming throughout the poem about her hometown. But throughout it, she compares where she is now to her hometown, and she mentions how she doesn’t know the foreign language either which stuck out to me because many people struggle with feeling connected to where they were from because they don’t know it. They use a creative way to mix in such big events and show the reality of them outside of it all.
In the story being told is by a victim herself. She explains the dangers of sex trafficking, prostitution, etc. and how hard it is to get out of situations like that. But how it’s so easy to get persuaded into such an industry. The story breaks the stigma of asking for help as well.
