Learn to adapt Hersey and Blanchard's Situation theory - Applying into special events class -Photography lead

First by understanding when to use all four different leadership styles based on what type of followers I encounter. (Richard, L. p.71). in this case I know my two followers doesn't really know how to take photos, that puts them into low readiness section where I am going to more directing style to them.

I will have to practice my emotional intelligence in order to understand what kind of follower I have. I must have the ability to perceive, identify, understand, and successfully manage emotions in self and others. (Richard, L. p. 146). i understand that not everyone at first know how to take photo. As a friend and leadership at the same time, I want to teach them how to take a photo so they can capture the best shot.

Communications is very important when I need to encounter the follower. How to approach different personal will be very different. My goal is to make each and every one of them feel embeddedness after the conversation. I personal want to have a communication champion in mind. I would start doing in the special events class. Where I am actually the Photography leads in that class, I have two followers and will have many volunteers join me once the event started. (Richard, L. p.263). They all have a DSLR camera which is a professional camera, but I have already observe that they only know how to shoot on Auto mode, during the event, we would like to get many other different types of shot. I am going to approach them at first to tell them if we want to capture the whole event very nicely, we need to learn how to take a "good" photo.

Shifting style, I believe this stage is the most difficult part of all time. because being able to shifting between leadership style is very tricky. I need observe at every moment and see what could possibly go wrong. once they know how to get the shots, I will shift to entrusting style and let them be creative.

Observe and effectively communicate with team members and check in with them to see if they are doing ok

Learn evolve from Conformist follower style to effective follower

Before I become a leader, I have to be follower first. That's why I believe being a good follower while have a heart to be leader is vert important.

Forget about my culture background first. WE were raised in the way that we do not utilize critical thinking skills at all, whatever the teacher tell you to do something we just do it. That Imperceptibly formed me to be just do it type.

Practice critical thinking skills, independent thinking skills. I have my own beliefs, ideas and thinking. most difficult part is to express them in front of of my boss. I need break that level of barrier by speaking my own opinion in front pf the classes and question other people's thoughts. (Richard, L. p. 140)

Being open-minded. I need to learn to listen and put my own opinion aside when accepting other's ideas. Going back to emotional intelligence sector, I also need to learn to control my emotions like a judge, doesn't matter if the opposition give me a completely negative answer, I will have to control my emotions and find something that is useful to make my ideas stronger.

Be a resource for the leader. When I start working in an organization, I will study their vision and goals. In order to to complement the leader's weakness with my own strength.(Richard, L. p. 205).

Help the leader be a good leader. I will start to ask my manager and my teacher to give me criticism on what can I do more to be a "good" student and "good" follower. (Richard, L. p. 206)

Building a relationship with the leader. I will encourage myself to speak up and express real feelings to the leader. Show my honesty to them and build that level of truest. "Respectful relationship with the boss is the best way to get important changes implemented." (Richard, L. p. 207).
