Preacher: No. We can’t.

Opal: Dad, please.

Preacher: No. We just can’t have a dog.

Opal: Winn-Dixie needs me. He has no one to take care of him.

Preacher: We have already talked about it. No, no, no!

Opal: Please! It willbe favor from me. I’ll take care of him.

Preacher: Ok. But only until we find him a home.

Opal: Thank you, dad.

Winn-Dixie: Bark! 

Opal: Come on Win Dixie, it's still food. 

Winn Dixie: Woof! 

Opal: I know it's not the same brand but they stopped producing the food you usually eat..  

Win Dixie: Bark, bark! (He turns away) 

Opal: Sure it's not the same, but it tastes real good, I promise

Winn-Dixie: (stays silent) 

Opal: Fine. Do I have to taste it? Is that it ? Is that what you want?  

Winn-Dixie: Woof. (he wags his tail) 

Opal: Here I go... (she slowly brings a piece of Winn-Dixie's food to her mouth. When she finally eats it she smiles sourly at her dog) 

Winn Dixie: Woof?  

Opal: Uh, It's real good. Try it. 

Winn Dixie: Bark! (he wags his tail and starts eating happily)  

Opal: You're a real stubborn dog, aren't ya? Oof, that was disgusting. 

From then on, Winn-Dixie ate his new food without any problems. 

But the mood suddenly changed when a thunderstorm unexpectedly rolled in. It was thundering and raining hard. In the chaos, Winn-Dixie disappeared and panic set in. Opal and Preacher went out to look for her, but they couldn't find her. When they returned, they found that Winn-Dixie had been under the bed the whole time!

Even with the momentary fear, the party continued and we found comfort in each other's company. I couldn't stop thinking about the value of friendship and the comfort it brings even in the middle of a thunderstorm.

Such meetings are truly special and I look forward to more such moments when laughter fills the air and worries are left at the door. Until next time, I will cherish the memories we made today and look forward to the next opportunity to celebrate the simple joys of life with my dear friends.

He is a big, happy dog. He is named as one American supermarket. He’s very friendly and funny. He like peanut butter. His owner is Opal and she really love him. He’s afraid of the storm.

Opal: That would be really great, I'd love to come to your party and I'm sure it will be fun and full of joy. I'm really looking forward to it.

Sweetie Pie: I will definitely have a big cake and invite a lot of my friends. It will be my first big birthday party.

Opal: I am very glad that we are such good friends.

Sweetie Pie: Me too!

Dear diary. Yesterday I met this girl, named Opal. I met her with her dog named Winn-Dixie. I swear she is one of the kindest souls I’ve ever met. She is kind, young, very easy to talk with. I’m not young anymore. In fact, I don’t have any friends. I could tell her lots of things that I haven´t been able to say to anyone for years. I hope she will visit me again. I´m quite tired. It’s time to go to bed. I’ll tell you more about her tomorrow. Goodnight!

 There were a lot of people in the library today and I was busy. I love book and I really love my work, but sometimes it is very hard and tiring.                                      But today a crazy thing happened to me, some little girl went to me and she asked me. She wanted to know, where the old book about war North versus South and also about dogs. There was a standing dog next to her. I like dogs, but library isn’t place for dogs. She said me that her dog is very kind and calm. The girl told me her name was Opal and name her dog is Winn-Dixie, hmm crazy name for dog! Opal is very friendly and I have made friends with her. Opal love book like me and she said me go to library very often. Opal is kind children.

Dunlap : Yea you are right, i don’t like her much too.

Stieve : She always go to the library where she meets her only friend Miss franny.

Dunlap : Don’t forget about her second friend the witch she also often visits her.

Stieve : And her dad, he is a preacher in local church, I think that Opal have to pray before meals or her father will get mad.
