It was isolated and he liked the fact of that. </p><ol start="2"><li><p>What societal experiences/social interactions did they have while there? </p></li></ol><p>While he was there he met a man who donated him some boots.          <description><![CDATA[<ol><li><p>Charade is also very important to Chris this is becasue its the places where he met Wayne Westerberg forming relationships with him and others. He worked on the farm with westerberg.</p></li><li><p>Carnage is a rural farming community labeled this becasue of its vast open land, all suitable for farming. This land could have been a peaceful spot for Chris and could explain why he chose to move there for a while.</p></li><li><p>3. “In Carthage, South Dakota, McCandless found a temporary respite from the demands and distractions of modern society.” ( krakauer chapter 6). This quote shows why Chris would move here.</p></li></ol>]]></description>

It served as a temporary stop in his journey, he worked at McDonald’s to make some easy money to fun his trips. </p><ol start="2"><li><p>The region of the United States was like pulling him here becasue of interesting terrain and tourism industry.</p></li><li><p> “McCandless seemed to regard the job as a last resor, and while he put in his time and did it well, he refused to let it consume him (Chapter 5). This proves the theme for Chris’s quest for rejecting social norms.</p></li></ol>]]></description>

It’s likely the Chris’s motivation to explore the world stems from living in the boring suburban neiborhoods.</p></li><li><p>Annandale is a suburban city meaning its middle class and relatively burning this is inportant makes it makes Chris dislike city life.</p></li><li><p>“Id always been captivated by the writing of free spirits who documented their retreats from civilization.”(Krakauer Into the wild, Chapter 2) this quote describes how Chris could have felt in the city.</p></li></ol>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li><p>This is where Chris went to Las Vegas on his trip. Here he would find a job and work for a few weeks before hitting the road once again.</p></li><li><p>Before he went to the city he buried his belongings outside of the city so no one could find them. I think he did this because he knew going into a big city and being homeless he could lose all of his stuff. He is smart for this because if something went wrong it could have set him back very far.</p></li><li><p>I think he went to Las Vegas to sort of see if he liked it again. He realized once again that he didn’t like it and left pretty early. I also think that living hopeless could have made him think it is bad because being homeless is not very great.</p></li></ol>]]></description>
