To avoid severe global warming, we need to fall down to two tonnes of CO2 per person before year 2050. Currently, the USA, Australia and the UK have more than 15 tonnes of CO2 per person.
Rosling states that the population will reach 10 billion, and then it will stay there. When he made that statement, he estimates that every woman will get 2,1 children on average. However, if every woman gets one fewer child, it will have a huge impact on the clomate and the CO2 in the atmosphere.

One of the reasons is the amount of children each woman give birth to. When parents have about 7 children, its much harder to secure their helth and their needs.
