When Ponyboy says, "I lie to myself all the time," he means to boost his self esteem and make himself believe that things are a different way than they really are. He wants to make a bad situation look good by lying to himself but deep down he knows that is not the truth. I don't often lie to myself. I don't lie to myself because all it does is keep me hoping for a better reality when I should learn to cherish the reality that is REALLY happening. I refuse to lie to myself about anything. Lying to yourself is a good way to hurt yourself mentally when what you think was going to happen, doesn't.

When Ponyboy says he lies to himself all the time simply means he can't except the truth of things so he tells himself lies to prevent seeing the truth. Sometimes, the lies are better then the reality. Sometimes, you can't bare the truth. Generally, Ponyboy just lies to himself to cover up what he doesn't want to see, even when its right in front of him.

he basically cant except the truth about some things so he lies to himself so he doesn't have to accept the truth about things. sometimes covering up the truth can be better than the truth and thats fine. although lieing to your self all the time can be pretty damaging.

Ponyboy mean that he says everything is o.k. when it's not. I don't lie to my self very often only when it will help me, like if I engendered my self . I would lie to my self at bought things i need to know like if some one i know is hurt or i need to do something in or out of school.

Well when Ponyboy said ''I lie to myself all the time'' he means that he will think and say things to himself that he really doesn't mean or isn't true to him or other people about things that would get himself feeling down so he lies to him feel better about himself in many cases this is what he does according to him

when ponyboy says that he lies to himself it means that he is trying to give himself a better reality. There are certain things in life where I believe at a certain point in time we want a better reality, there for we give it to ourselves mentally. It isn't necessarily a bad thing as long as we end up knowing what is reality and what is not. Therefor yes, at certain times when I want a better reality, I create one. A couple of things that i refuse to lie to myself about is school, and death those are the two things i refuse to lie to myself about. Mostly everything else I give myself an alternate reality. thats what i like to think of it. just creating an alternate reality....not necessarily lying.

When Ponyboy lies to himself it means he doesn't want to know the truth or tell himself what his life actually like and he wants to lock that stuff away and just live a normal life a kid should live. I have never really lied to myself because I haven't faced many big challenges in my life to cause me to lie and make myself think that my life is perfectly fine.

when pony boy says "i lie to my self all the time he means that he says something is true to himself but really in his mind he knows that what he says is true really isn't true . and be honest i lie to myself sometimes just to calm down a bit and get whatever is bothering me out of my head. and the things i refuse to lie to myself about are big things like school work that is due soon and i know it's not done but i really want to say i finished but i know it's really not.

He means that he lies to him self like in his mind. He lies to himself to keep him from breaking down so he feels more confident and empowered. In my life iv lied to my self so many times because of everything in my life i dont lie to my self about annoying things like grades or studying i lie to my self about things like i can live with my life with everything that has happened to me.

Ponyboy says he lies to him self because he knows he can be good and that he is good, be he wanted to hang out with all the greasers and get in fight and he trys to lie to himself. like as such as other people and me we lie to our selves to make us feel better or ect. we also lie to ourselves when we want to feel good about ourselves and also i think ita good to lie to yourself it keeps you positive and outgoing when you lie to yourself it make u feel better and u dont be so insecure about yourself.

I think that when Ponyboy says that he lies to him self a lot I think he means he is lying to him self that he wants to be with the gang and be a greaser. Also I think that when he says I lie to my self a lot It means he is lying to him self so he does not have to worry about it later or that he just does not want to know the truth. -Savana

When you lie to yourself or in this case when Ponyboy lies to himself he knows the truth but he refuses to believe it. He bundles himself in lies that he tells himself so he cant believe what really is happening or the truth. Any Questions?:]

When Pony says "I lie to myself all the time" it means that inside he feels bad about the situations he is in but he is telling himself that things are okay when they really aren't. Ponyboy is trying to trick himself into thinking things are fine when in reality, he is struggling. I don't ever lie to myself because I should be greatful for what I have. So many kids would kill for an opportunity that I have.

I think ponyboy lies to himself becouse it makes him feel better aboute him I don't lie to myself that often but when i do lie to myself it is when i can't do somthing or when I have a bad day.
