Now ask yourself, if you were a teen or young adult, what insecurities would you have if compared to the picture? Some would say their nose or weight compared to the model in the picture. All these are what causes teens and adults to develop eating disorders such as avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID)

In this image, it models how the Egyptians' ideal body used to be. . In ancient Egypt, the ideal body image was quite different from what we see in modern times. The Egyptians considered a slender and narrow-shouldered body to be the epitome of beauty, with a high waist and symmetrical face. They believed that these physical features were not only aesthetically pleasing but also indicated good health and fertility. To achieve this ideal body, the Egyptians engaged in physical activities such as dancing, swimming, and rowing, and followed a healthy diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and grains.

The media often portrays an idealized body type that is unrealistic and unattainable for most people. This can lead to feelings of inadequacy and dissatisfaction with a persons own body, as individuals compare themselves to these unrealistic standards. In reality, bodies come in all shapes and sizes, and there is no one "perfect" body type. It is important to recognize that the media's portrayal of the ideal body is often heavily edited and airbrushed, and does not reflect the diversity and complexity of real life bodies.

Real life body image is a complex and multifaceted concept that encompasses a person's perception, thoughts, and feelings about their own body. It is influenced by a variety of factors, including genetics, culture, media, and personal experiences. Unfortunately, many people struggle with negative body image, which can lead to a range of physical and mental health issues, such as eating disorders, depression, and anxiety. It is important to recognize that there is no one "ideal" body type, and that everyone's body is unique and worthy of respect and care. By promoting body positivity and self-acceptance, we can help individuals develop a healthier and more positive relationship with their bodies.

Unfortunately, the media often promotes a narrow and unrealistic standard of beauty that prioritizes thinness and a certain body shape. This can lead to feelings of shame and inadequacy for those who do not fit this narrow ideal. However, it is important to recognize that bodies of all sizes and shapes can be healthy and beautiful. Health is not determined by weight or body shape alone, but by a variety of factors, including nutrition, physical activity, and mental well-being.

When we envision the "perfect" guy, it's often a muscular physique that springs to mind, right? A strong chest, well-defined arms—basically a bodybuilder . This particular image tends to earn approval from both guys and girls, and it's not hard to see why. The media consistently presents this as the ultimate standard for a man's body. However, this repetitive depiction of the 'ideal' body creates an unrealistic standard, leaving many of us feeling deficient. It's as though there's only one definition of looking good, and this significantly affects our self-perception.

The media's consistent portrayal of the 'ideal' male physique often defined by a perfectly good and muscular body—exerts a profound influence on our mental well-being. This image sets an unattainable standard that many of us feel pressured to reach. This continuous exposure to an unrealistic body ideal goes beyond mere self-consciousness; it deeply affects our mental health. It triggers feelings of inadequacy and self-doubt, causing us to question our own value based on how closely we match this narrow depiction. The relentless pursuit of this ideal often initiates an internal struggle.

The media's portrayal of the 'perfect' male body doesn't just affect our minds; it also has a tangible impact on our physical well-being. The constant exposure to this ideal pushes some to extreme measures like crash diets or rigorous workout routines, striving for a standard that feels nearly unattainable. However, these extreme actions come with serious risks, potentially causing injuries and long-term health issues. Furthermore, the pressure to conform to this image can create mental strain, leading to problems such as anxiety or eating disorders, further compromising our physical health.

In conclusion, I would like to say it’s important to not let the media take control of your life just because of their standards. When you finally let go, It's like pulling back a curtain when you let go of the media's ideal of the "perfect" figure. You find yourself liberated from these unattainable norms. Rather, you're devoting your efforts to what really matters: building relationships, pursuing your hobbies, and achieving your career goals. It's a feeling of liberation from the burden of expectations. You're in charge of your own destiny. Creating truly meaningful goals, engaging in enjoyable activities, and cultivating genuine connections. Reclaiming your narrative is more important than maintaining appearances while moving away from these ideas. It's about finding contentment in following meaningful dreams and valuing a journey that is uniquely yours and unaffected by outside influences. Creating a life that reflects your values, not some other person's idea of perfection, is what matters.
