Now, some would like to put an end to animal research. Obviously, they don’t have cancer, heart disease, or AIDS."
This visual briefly explains that without animal research, humans would still be suffering from these diseases and many more. Obviously, animal research has proved to be necessary in the past, and will continue to be necessary in the future, at least until scientists come up with alternative methods.

Animals have helped develop life saving drugs that have been needed to help save the lives of many people. Taking this away would result in the death of millions of people.

I agree that animals that are used for testing need to be treated better. The Animal Welfare Act needs to be more closely adhered to by scientists and researchers.

This picture specifically depicts how scientists are trying to create a human like skin made from mature human cells, instead of testing on animals.
However both of these processes just explained will require a lot time and money to make them a reality.
This is where PETA comes in. PETA needs to support scientists that are trying to come up with alternative testing methods.

Instead of fighting to stop animal researchers, PETA needs to support scientists who are trying to come up with alternative methods. “Fortunately, advances in science have led to a new vision for toxicity testing based on human cell systems that will be more predictive, have higher throughput, cost less money, be more comparable to real-life exposures in humans, while using many fewer animals” (Zurlo). With this new approach, animals will no longer be needed because the testing will be based on extrapolated human cells instead, which will be a scientific breakthrough to be celebrated.
