  • best performing schools are where schools and community are one. what schools does makes sense and actually is what the community needs or is doing.
  • technologies create learning situations richer for pupils to create ….they themselves do not improve learning
  • the power to create lies in the hands of students….student-centered...ICT in classroom is not about teachers to show powerpoint and videos...is about students doing things themselves.
  • skills have to be taught to our pupils on how they should use ICT.in a useful way....ex1 like google search tips...what is relevant, what kind of text is it about...or ex.2 send emails and put title, accompanying text, name of presentation etc. or ex3 how to use the cloud to store and collaborate. 
  • IMPORTANT why you use a tool and what for. what competencies do i want my pupils to develop!
  • learn to make choices!! Learning occurs better when i have to make choices, like a driver!!

In thinkling  you can create a poster with music, video etc. for example about a historical building, or 10 top facts etc, or use of your own photos.  tell the story of your family in 10 steps. You can add links, qr codes, google search etc. You can make a map of a game.

  • vocaroo  ONLINE VOICE RECORDER allows you to  record your voice and send it or create a qr code….think aloud techniques, funny words, used for practice of a foreign language https://vocaroo.com/

  • For REFLECTION after class or aster a semester you can use:  
      Canva  for posters, select the part  "comic strip" and "yearbook" for pupils!!!!

  • DO NOT  FORGET THE IMPORTANCE OF making your pupils store in a Cloud, like google drive or Box.
google docs gives them the choice to collaborate and /or comment to the works of their fellow pupils.
Propose to students to comment on each others work. You can even make a common folder with parents..! especially for teachers of primary to get parents involved.

In "Microsoft painting" they integrated QR codes that lead to various excercises. The subject was the life of Lord Byron 
The first QR code leads to a video presentation made with biteable application, the second QR to a learningapps application with a question to answer,  the third QR to the application qrco.de to pdf document and the forth  QR to a padlet, where you could take a photo and insert it like a class diary. We come home being turned into super high tech geeks :-)

EXERCISE Stimulate pupils imagination with a real theme...for example THEME DIRTY CLASSROOMS. exercise
Create dialogue among you and the rubbish bin….what strange can you find inside etc...what would  the rubbish bin reply? Write the dialogue and take fotos and write a newspaper of what should be changed.

ACTIVITY to encourage writing.
 Sharing stories on our desktops.
Close your eyes for 1 min. 
start writing a story on your laptop without stopping about what you thought during this minute.
 Move to the next laptop and complete the story of the person next to you...do not try to change it, just follow the initial thought... Keep changing places for a bit more. In the last laptop you will find yourself find an end for the story and a title. Go back to your computer and see the story. Illustrate it. This process  can also have a theme like our relationship to water etc

Create pairs.
Task: pick one photo from your mobile and talk 1 min about it with your partner. Then present your partner to the group.

  • Working with QR codes.                                                                                                You download a QR codescanner. More applications allow you to create a qr code. We used the QR code monkey to create QR codes in various colours and shapes. The participants went around the tables scanning each QR code created by their classmates. 
  •  Discussion in pairs on how to use it. Put ideas in the wall. participants see them wondering the around like in a gallery.
