Summary: The Kansas-Nebraska Act let settlers in those territories decide if they wanted slavery, undoing the Missouri Compromise. It led to violent clashes and increased tensions before the Civil War.

Explanation: In my opinion, the South initially benefited more from the Kansas-Nebraska Act because it gave them a chance to expand slavery into new territories where it had previously been banned. But the act also sparked strong resistance in the North and led to violence, which ultimately hurt national unity and pushed the country closer to civil war.

The Kansas-Nebraska Act was a turning point it showed how deeply divided the country was over slavery. I think it was significant because it broke the fragile balance between free and slave states and replaced it with chaos.

It increased tensions between the North and South before the Civil War.

Explanation: In my opinion, the South benefited most from the Dred Scott decision because it supported the expansion of slavery and protected slaveholder rights. It gave them more power, while the North saw it as a major setback for the fight against slavery.

I think the Dred Scott decision was unfair and made tensions in the country much worse.
