         <description><![CDATA[<div>Jasaw Chan K' awiil-  Reformed the political structure of Ancient Maya by bringing all of the provincial states together under him. He is also responsible for the creation of many renowned temples such as the Temple of the Great Jaguar.<br><br>K' inich Janaab Pakal I- Known as King Pakal, was the king of Palenque and is known for turning Palenque into a powerful state and ensured peace and economic growth during his rule. He is also known for the great architectural structures he had built during his reign as king.<br><br>Tax K' uk Mo'- Founded the dynasty that ruled over the Mayan City state Copan for over 350 years. He is also known for his major contributions towards the fields of arithmetic and astronomy.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>PERSIA: Mayans and Olmec</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>P: The Mayans and Olmecs both had monarchy's but The Olmecs had a strong, centralized monarchy while the Mayans had different monarchy's for each city until they were eventually unified under Jasaw Chan K' awiil.<br>E: The Mayans and Olmecs both used complex trade systems. Major trade products for the Olmecs included obsidian, jade, serpentine, mica, rubber, pottery, feathers, and Polished mirrors made of ilmenite and magnetite. The major trade products for the Mayans included food, clothes, basic pottery, salt, and prestige items such as jewelry and ritual items.<br>R:The Olmecs and Mayans both believed in multiple gods and religious sacrifices but The Mayans believed in nature gods while the Olmecs believed in the eight gods such as the Olmec Dragon, theBird Monster, the Shark Monster, the Banded Eye God, the Maize God, the Rain Spirit, the Were-Jaguar, and the Feathered Serpent.<br>S: Little is known about the Olmec social hierarchy but it is believed to have been divided into the common people and the elite while the Mayan social hierarchy consisted of slaves, serfs, commoners and nobles.<br>I: The Mayans created the calendar which heavily influences the calendars of today and the Olmecs were one of the first civilizations to use hieroglyphs as ways of speech which influences today.<br>A: Mayan and Olmec art mainly consists of sculptures of past rulers and gods such as the Olmec Heads.</div>]]></description>
