Her abilities and competences, combined with the experience

gained at an international level, led her to direct, in 1979, the Olivetti Corporation of America as President.

She came back to Italy in 1981 as CEO of ITALTEL, a colossus of 30000 employees in phase of acute regression. Everyone was skeptical of his renovation plan. Marisa had to make bold and forward-looking choices. In three years she managed to transform a complex of factories to be scrapped, into an electronic, modern, dynamic and avant-garde Company. In fact ITALTEL had a positive balance again, with income of 1,300 billion of lire. In 1986, with this undisputed success, she won the "Manager of the Year" award.

The rise of MARISA BELLISARIO would have reached heights unthinkable for a woman if an irreversible disease hadn't taken her away on a sultry afternoon of 4th August 1988.

Confident and proud of her femininity, she was appreciated, esteemed by the CEOs of the largest International Companies, politicians, trade-unions, workers and employees.

MARISA leaves a mark on everyone, even and above all on women. For them she represents an innovative example and also sends this powerful message: "...every woman, if determined and courageous, able to dare and pursue her own ambitions, will be able to reach any goal in life as in work "

The President of the Republic Mister Cossiga said that "....Marisa Belisario's commitment was and will be, for the history of women, the symbol of the AFFIRMATION of EQUALITY between men and women.

Among the many stories told, emerges that of Hout Bophana.

At the age of 16 she felt in love with Ly Sitha. Just before the wedding, Cambogia sank into the bad dream. They were separated.

Bophana Was raped, she became a mother and was forced to work.

They looked for each other, they met several time, but they made the mistake of writing themselves.

The letters were accidentally intercepted.

Ly Sitha was executed because of that .

Bophana was brutally tortured for five months, killed and thrown into the common grave. Se was 25 years old and she was guilty to be a strong, indipendent women who loved a man.

Her story is told in the books by Elisabeth Becher: "Bophana" and "When the war is over" and on the film of Rithy Panth: "A Cambodian tragedy".

A CRUSHED FLOWER was her signature on the letters of love.

It is them who ran the country during the war.
They all have strength, courage and dignity.

Her mother died after giving birth to the youngest of four sons. The newborn was named “Ouch” to remember the pain that generated him. Egle raised “Ouch”, she took care of her father and of her brothers and she worked in the fields. Everyday Egle was the first one to wake up and the last one to go to bed. Just at the beginning of First World War Egle lost her betrothed, who was sent to certain death on an impossible mission. Egle brought food to a deserter brother hidden in the woods after their father was put in prison because he didn’t reveal the place where the son was hidden. Egle hated war for all her life. Egle was part of the group of women who formed the Section of women of Socialist Party in a small and unknown village and that commitment of the women was continuing even during the fascist period. Egle struggled against fascism and she was again dragged in the new World War. The day Egle died, “Ouch” was old but in good health and he told me: "today I lost my sister, my mother, my companion in ideas. It’s an unbearable pain for me; promise me you’ll come to my funeral.” About three months later I keep my promise. That Egle was my grandmother.

She studied Maths and science: an unusual upbringing for an aristocratic girl in the 1800s. Young Ada got a chance to meet Charles Babbage, a mathematician and inventor known as the father of the computer, who created plans for two machines which was meant to perform complex mathematical calculations: she looked at the plans of those engines and added notes describing how codes could be created for the devices to handle letters and symbols along with numbers. She also theorized a method for the engines to repeat a series of instructions: it was the first algorithm encoded to be processed by a machine. Though Babbage’s machines was never built, Lovelace’s notes are important in the early history of computers: she realized that computers would be able to do more than just make complex calculations. Lovelace’s contribution to the field of computer science were not discovered until the 1950s; since then, Ada is considered to be the first computer programmer and has received many posthumous honors for her work. In 1980, the U.S. Department of Defense named a newly developed computer language “ADA”, after Lovelace.

She was a physicist and a mathematician. When she was 21 years old, she was admitted to the Polytechnic of Zurich, where she met Albert Einstein. She studied with profit, but her course of study was hampered and in fact she was prevented from graduating. In 1903 she married Albert and left the Polytechnic, but she continued to collaborate in her husband’s studies and researches. From some letters found it is clear that she actively and intensely participated in the works and researches on Brownian motion, photoelectric effect, special relativity and mass – energy equivalence. These studies led to publish in 1905 the famous articles than form the basis of modern physics. In this period Einstein worked full time at the Patent Office in Bern and without good help he could not have dealt with much demanding scientific work. But Mileva’s name never appeared, next to that of her husband, in international journals. They divorced in 1918 and thereafter Albert seemed become more traditionalist and less farsighted.
Then we must ask ourselves how much Mileva’s contribution there is behind Albert’s insights and genius.
The Polytechnic of Zurich currently seems to be considering the possibility of conferring on Mileva posthumous honorary degree.

Right now, my attention is turned to the figure of the Italian senator Liliana Segre.

Before, I knew little about her, only that she was a Holocaust survivor and of Jewish origin, but after watching a lecture on YouTube on her, deported girls and on the life she lived in the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp, I was moved by her history.

Ripped out from a quiet childhood, deprived of her father's love because he died during the imprisonment, her experience in the camp full of incredible torments, under the domination of people who were not men but monsters, for her strength, for the courage shown resisting such horror, her events caused me a deep admiration for her.

At the end of primary school, many families sent their boys at the secondary school in Mekelle, the nearest town; this was expensive, so the girls didn't go to school: they had to marry, often before the age of fifteen.
One day at the end of 2010, Endakiros Kahsu, a strong-minded little girl, told: “No, I don't want to marry, I want to go to school”.

At first she had to run away from home, but fortunately her family was quite understanding and, with help from some Italian friends (ass. No Early Marriage) Endakiros and some other girls was supported to go to secondary school.

Step by step, the number of girls from Maymekden in secondary school of Mekelle increased, as long as the government started building a secondary school for girls into the village.
Today there are not early marriages in MayMekden and in the neighborhood; a lot of girls and boys go to secondary school; some of the older of these took a degree; Endakiros, the first, got a degree as nurse; other who graduated, a little bit before the war, were Selamawit Teka and Yrgalem Mahari (engineer and chemical engineer).

Women capable of immersing themselves in science, of penetrating it like a plow into the earth to understand, find a justification, a remedy... and they ask...they ask..., unable to accept the fate of their creature. Women who live weeks, months, in the hospital room, often left alone, forced to hide in the bathroom crying and then skilfully put on makeup their face so that the others don't understand! Mothers who then have to go on living.....

At the end of the war, when the spanish pandemia broke, she remained next to the sick soldiers until she herself felt ill and died at the hospital of Trieste at twenty one years old. She is buried in the Military Cemetery of Redipuglia, where she is the only woman among hundred thousand soldiers. On her grave, bigger than the others, in the first line, a big cross was sculpted.

A warm and welcoming meeting point in the historical center: La Locanda delle Favole. For all of this Stefy left a job as marketing manager, invested his savings and also neglected her two children and her husband a little... but she was so happy.
At first few earnings, lot of work but always with a smile on her face... Then , when the business starts to grow , the Covid Pandemic arrives and takes everything away. It's impossible to continue. How much discomfort, how much pain. But life goes on and now that she've fortunately found a new job in marketing, she has created a blog about children's books and her dream, although scaled up, goes on.
I dedicate this March 8 to your strength, to you who taught me never to give up on your dreams... to you .. my daughter. I'm proud of you Stefania.

She was a woman who loved Mexican Folk Art.
After a terrible bus accident, she had to carry a metal bust for a long time.
During this period she suffered a lot, but she continued to paint.
Frida was a very courageous and passionate artist woman.
Part of her last works, concerns delicate and important women's problems.
She died young.

She was born in Arsita (1963) and she lives in Penne, Abruzzo, a little region, rude and harsh as her writing.
In particular, I like her ability to tell the tears, the lacerations of life with rough, outspoken words but full of meaning.
Her first book "Mia madre è un fiume" isn't the best one but to me it's the most attractive one because it follows part of my life.
A elderly woman shows the first signs of disease (Alzheimer) that progressively takes away her memories, identity, the very meaning of existence. Her daughter will have to take care of her and she helps to rebuild her story in a difficult and painful way.
All books by D. Di Pietrantonio: "Bella mia", "L'Arminuta", "Borgo Sud" talk about the complexity of family relationships, they touch deep chords and have in common a great and rare expressive intensity.

Today I'll speak about Clara. She was born in 1927 and she had three sisters and one brother.
Her life was very difficult because she lived her childhood during the Second World War. In that time she ran with her siblings into the tunnels to save the life.
My grandmother for a short time came back to Siracusa and Clara took care of the family: she cooked, washed and worked, but always with strength and joy.
Ten years later Clara married Pietro and she built her family.
Clara is my mummy and on the 8th March 2020 I saw her beautiful smile for the last time; I miss her but I know that she is always with me.

The protest only ended when racial segregation on buses stopped in 1956. This was the beginning of the Civil Rights Movement in the U.S. Rosa Parks became an international icon of resistance to racial segregation and a civil rights leader. She received national recognition, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom. She died on October 2005 in Detroit at the age of 92.
