It is crazy to learn that before they were transported they all had to stay in an abandoned synagogue. Families were separated because men and women had to be separated. The synagogue didn't even have bathrooms the people had to use the restroom in the corner of the room. I can't imagine how these people felt waiting to be shipped off. When Moishe the Beadle came back from being "deported" he tried to explain what had happened. Sadly, people thought he was crazy and didn't listen. Maybe if they had listened they could have had a different fate. Moishe said that the officers made people dig their own graves than killed them. How could you feel you're doing nothing wrong when you are murdering families? While the prisoners were being transported they made yet another stop in a German town. One of the German citizens made the decision to throw bread into a rail car. By doing this it causes the conflict of the prisoners brutally fighting over the bread. They were killing each other over small pieces of bread because they were so starved.
