I think this behavior is sort of in their dna because like us we protect who we love and that’s something we already have programmed into our brains. For example when a human is put into fight or flight for their kids like when Eddie hall was hypnotized to lift more than 1000 pounds because he was put into the fight or flight. He was hypnotized to believe that his kids were trapped under a car and he had to lift it.
