The ADDIE model focus on stage development, one which concentrates on the successful completion of one stage before advancement to the next. Meanwhile, the Jerrold Kemp model is one in which the stages are purposely blurred together as an overlapping and simultaneous system of identification, development, implementation, evaluation, and adaptation.

Unlike the ADDIE model, formative and summative evaluations are ever-present throughout all stages of the Jerrold Kemp model
