Lesson Idea: One student will come to the front of the class and will be given a descriptive or sensory word. For example elated, frustrated, sticky, etc. The student would then act out that word for the class and the class would work together to guess what the specific word is. They will then write a sentence using that word. That process would continue with new students as the class continues to learn new words to use in their writing.

Lesson Idea:

1) Introduce the 3 government branches by watching the video linked above.

2) Have students write their own bill

3) Students will vote on who's bill should be used for the activity

4) Each student will be given a role in the government revised version of "The Three Little Pigs"

• Each pig represents a branch of government. The "wolf" goes from house to house trying to get the bill passed. Straw- Legislative Sticks-Executive Brick- Judicial

• During each house the votes have to be at least 2/3 to go to the next house.

• If bill does not pass the "wolf" has to rewrite the bill

• The bill will pass or not

Art Content: Standard 4.V.P.2:
Analyze the various considerations for presenting and protecting art in various locations, indoor or outdoor settings, in temporary or permanent forms, and in physical or digital formats.

Lesson Idea: Students will create a physical diorama of different habitats. They will be put into small groups and will be given the art supplies necessary to create their diorama of a habitat. In this habitat, they will be integrating the math standard by making sure their dioramas are the correct size and mathematical area that is expected. For example, if a student was creating a rainforest habitat, they might be given a set of measurements that correlate with the size of the Amazon Rainforest. Taking the mile long rivers, and turning them into a specific set of inches or centimeters. Giving the students an outline of how big or small their dioramas need to be. Students can create a key themselves, or we could give them one. Students will need to be able to explain how the animals can survive in different habitats. With the art standard, they will need to have proportions in mind. Knowing how big an animal might be next to a tree or river and making sure that they are all proportionally correct.

Lesson Idea: Students will be split into groups of 3-4. Each group will be assigned a scene from a familiar story. For example, "Three Little Pigs", "Cinderella", or "Tortoise and the Hare". The scene assigned will have a significant event that contributes to the main outcome of the story. Using this scene, the students will adapt and rewrite the scene to have a differing outcome with dialogue, description, and emotion. Students will have 20 minutes to create a script for their rewritten story. The students will have 2 minute to perform these new scenes for the rest of the class. Students will be assessed on their use of dialogue and description to show the responses of their characters to the situation. Each group will turn in one script to demonstrate the adaptations they implemented.

Lesson Idea:

Students will use their bodies in various fractions. (1/4 of your body could be your arm or leg, move half of your body slow, etc.) The students will dance based on the fraction prompt with their own interpretation with the music
