We are like a house, and all our furniture are our values. It's there. It's ours. We put them there and arranged them. We carefully selected everything from the sturdy oak table to the tiled floor. Effortlessly, our friends were given a spare key. They, subtlety, went in and brought a lamp. Another friend rearranged the kitchen. We, unknowingly, earned another value and changed another one.

That's how friends influenced us. They unknowingly shapes my values by influencing and connecting with each other. By observing and being with them, we don't realize that we are adapting their traits. Just by being themselves, they showed what it means to be real, to care deeply, and to stand tall even in silence.

It starts with the small things. The way you dress. The slang you use. You find yourself buying the kind of things they told you are effective. These are just simple adjustments, the gentle furniture rearrangements. But they are the start to the deeper changes. The furniture is moved on hang outs and during late night banters on group chats. The new pieces are brought in during whispered secrets and shared meals. You come into a room and think that this looks right. This must have always been here.

Friends do not always intend to change us, yet their presence rearranges the furniture of our character. Without realizing it, the house of our values becomes brighter, fuller, and more alive because of the people we let inside. And just like that, our house grows and changes without us noticing. The walls hold more laughter, the floors carry more footsteps, and the furniture quietly reflects the people we spend our time with.
