1. Recognize Indigenous land rights and support their efforts to protect and manage their territories effectively.
2. Invest $3 billion in renewable energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to mitigate the effects of climate change, while prioritizing the perspectives and needs of Indigenous communities.
3. Provide financial and technical assistance to help Indigenous communities adapt to the impacts of climate change, including sustainable infrastructure and adaptation strategies.
4. Foster collaboration between Indigenous communities and scientific institutions, integrating Indigenous traditional knowledge and practices into environmental decision-making processes.
5. Ensure the full and effective participation of Indigenous communities in decision-making processes related to climate change at all levels, acknowledging their unique perspectives and solutions.

Indigenous lands make up around 20% of the Earth’s territory, containing 80% of the world’s remaining biodiversity—a sign Indigenous Peoples are the most effective stewards of the environment.
