Through each story, both characters endure mass amounts of suffering and pain. Which is directly related to the creation that they've made. Thus showing a link between each character. Prometheus stole fire for his creations and in turn was chained to a rock where he endured physical pain such as having his liver being eaten everyday. He never regret his decision to help mankind. He was immortal and thus his pain never ceased until Hercules set him free. Victor did indeed feel the same scale of pain. It was emotional rather than physical entirely. He instead regretted his creation immensely and felt guilty as he watched all his closest family and friends die all around him at the hands of his monster. They both suffered entirely based on their actions on creating life.

Through the first 10 chapters we learn about Victor and his childhood. It was as happy as any could be. We also see his creation and his reaction. Before the monster opened its eyes, Victor worked tirelessly and was very proud of his work. He wanted to excel in the science he studied and surpass those he learned from. He wanted to create life. In one variation of the myth, Prometheus was said to be wise and possessed the gift of foresight. He was given the task to create humans by the gods when the world first formed. In turn both of these characters made a being.

It was already one in the morning; the rain pattered dismally against the panes, and my candle was nearly burnt out, when, by the glimmer of the half-extinguished light, I saw the dull yellow eye of the creature open; it breathed hard, and a convulsive motion agitated its limbs.
