Mongol Creation Story

In the very beginning of their time, Mongols believed in a supreme being of the upper world (God or Ulgen Tenger) and the devil or Erleg Khan. These all-mighty figures are said to be brothers, and Ulgen Tenger is also thought to be the son of Father Heaven.
There are very few different creation stories on how the Mongol's thought people were created, but most stories led to the same basic idea. (For a quick summary go below the underneath the story)
"Long long ago, God descended to Earth and made a man and a woman out of clay. Before returning to heaven to get some holy water with the power to animate anything, he ordered his dog and cat to protect the clay people from the devil. After God ascended to heaven, the devil came to harm the people. The dog and the cat protected them, though thwarting the devil's plan. Finally, the devil deceived them by giving a piece of meat to the dog and a bowl of milk to the cat. While the dog at the flesh and the cat lapped the milk, the devil urinated on the people and fled.
When God returned with the holy water and discovered what had happened, he was enraged. Scolding the the dog and cat for neglecting their duty, he forced the cat to lick the hair off the bodies of the people whom the devil had defiled (God created people with hair all over their bodies). The cat licked off the hair everywhere except their heads, armpits, and crotches, since the former had not been dirtied and the latter two were hard for the cat to reach. God then put the hair on the dog, so that humans are now naked and dogs have hair. The Mongol saying that the tongue of the cat and the hair of the dog are dirty has its origin here. Man and woman, who were animated by drinking the holy water, should have been immortal but became mortal instead because of their defilement by the devil."
So, the people where molded from clay. When he left for his holy water back in heaven he left his cat and his dog to watch over the people. And then the devil tricked the cat and the dog and urinated on the people while God was gone. Then God made the cat lick off all the hair of the people to give the hair to the dog.
Also the way they think the earth was formed was pretty interesting. this is how the Mongols thought the earth/land was created. (This one is short enough for you to read).
"The duck created a small piece of land, just big enough for Ulgen to lay on. Seeing that his brother fell asleep, Erleg Khan tried to pull the land down from him, but instead the land stretched out in all directions."
And those are some of the Mongol creation stories.

I did my creation story on the Romans the Romans were a old and well educated people. The Roman invasion of Britain was the most significant event ever to happen to the British Isles. It affected our language, our culture, our geography, our architecture and even the way we think. Our island has a Roman name, its capital is a Roman city and for centuries the language of our religion and administration was a Roman one.

For 400 years, Rome brought a unity and order to Britain that it had never had before. Prior to the Romans, Britain was a different set of people with no sense of national identity beyond that of their local tribe. In the wake of the Roman occupation, every Briton was aware of their Britishness. This defined them as something different from those people who came after them.

The Inca did not record much of their religion for it was mostly passed down from generation to generation and were polytheistic, believing different gods and goddesses. From the few documents found, people learned that out of the many gods and goddesses the one they believed to create all life was Veracocho, the one who came out of the darkness and created the light, the Earth, the moon, the stars, and even life along with mankind. When it came to mankind it is said that he was not satisfied with his last creation, breathing into the stone of the Earth to create man.

There is no single tribe of Pueblos. Pueblos are people that lived in Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas in 1500 BC. However, most Pueblos believe the same story, which is they entered this world from a hole in the roof of the below world, which they call Sipapu, using a ladder. They wandered for years with The Great Spirits guidance. When they found good ground The Great Spirit taught them how to grow crops, and build houses. Then The a great Spirit gave the pueblos his twin sons, Maseway and Sheoyeway, to watch over them and help them in wars. The Great Spirit then returned to his home in the clouds.
Pueblos built their houses out of adobe, which was clay and straw baked into sticks. Their skin was dark along with their hair. Women would wear knee-length dresses, while men would wear kilt-like skirts. Each Pueblo community had its own chief. In some communities there is said to have been a winter and summer chief. Today Pueblos still live in primarily regions of north eastern Arizona and north western New Mexico.

      Creation Story
Laken Platt Pd 8

The Cherokee Indians stories are very wild and interesting, but the one I will be focusing on is the creation of the Earth. You may question, how did the Cherokee get their name? What does it mean? Well, they didn't always have the name Cherokee. In fact their name was actually Tsalagi, meaning people with another language. When the white settlers came they could not pronounce Tsalagi properly so the Indians got labeled with Cherokee. The Cherokee tribes were in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and East Tennessee. Their homes, unlike many Indian tribes were made out of mud and clay with roofs of river cane.

When the Earth began there was only water. All of the animals had lived in the sky. The sky was starting to get crowded and all of the animals were curious what may lie beneath the water. Dayuni'si, the water beetle, decided he would volunteer to go down and see. He flew everywhere and could not see one piece of land. Then, he dived into the water and there he saw mud. The mud eventually began to expand and enlarge in size to what became the Earth as we know it. After this, one of the animals attached the sky to the land with four strings. Once this was completed and the earth formed, it was flat and soft. So, the animals sent a bird down to see if it dried. The land was still wet so they sent a Buzzard to prepare it for the animals.

The buzzard flew down, by the time that he had reached the Cherokee land he was so tired that his wings began to hit the ground. Wherever they hit the ground a mountain or valley had formed. The Cherokee land still is the same today with all the landforms that the Buzzard formed. The animals decided that it was too dark, so they made the sun. They put in on the path that it still runs today. The animals then could admire the newly created Earth around them.

Blackfeet Indians Creation Story

The Blackfoot Indians were skilled huntsmen. They primarily hunted buffalo like many other Plains Indians and traveled in groups. But when the English men came they nearly wiped out the buffalo. About 600 Blackfeet starved. Also when they came they brought diseases like small pox and measles, these diseases killed tons of the Indians. Every year they do a spiritual tradition called the sun dance they Alamo called it the Medicine Lodge Ceremony. They sang, danced, and praying they also devote a lot of it to buffalo cause that was their main food source. The Blackfeet had many Indians they were known to be difficult to get along with. Some tribes that they fought were the Assiniboine, Cree, Crows, Flatheads, Kutenai, and the Sioux. They didn't get along with the Europeans in the beginning either to. The type of jewelry that women wore most often was earrings. They were usually made of seashell or semi-precious metals. Elk tusks were a prized possession and women wore them as decorations on their dresses. Men who achieved a certain level of status in a tribe would wear a grizzly bear paw on a necklace. Clothing almost always included some part of animal hide or skin. Temperatures in the northern region got cold and the hide provided warmth.
Some of the honored traditions and beliefs of the Blackfoot Indians include the belief that nobody is born evil. That truth and honesty are the basis of leading an honorable life, that all people deserve respect whatever their age or rank. And that a good sense of humor is essential if one wants to live life to the fullest. The dead were placed on a platform in a tree or the tipi, or on the floor of the tipi. Some property was left with the body for use in the next life. The Blackfoot feared the ghosts of the dead, and if a person died in a tipi, that tipi was never used again.
The way they thought the world was created was that the old man (the sun) created and thought everything in the world what it was to do. In the beginning everything was flooded, and the old man and all of the animals floated on a raft. The old man wanted the animals to get some mud from the earth for him. But the water was to high some animals died trying but one finally came up with mud. The old man sprinkled it over the water and it created land. Then the old man created grass so the animals could feed, then he put the rivers, waterfalls, and mountains where he thought they should go. Then he molded a women and a child out of clay and they came alive they had bear like claws at first. The women asked if they live for ever but the old man said if you throw that stone in the water and it floats you live forever but if it doesn't it will end. The women threw the rock and it sunk and a few days later her son died and she got really mad. But then other people died to cause they starved so he gave them hands and taught them to hunt with bow and arrows. Then he made more tribes and he gave them boundaries and weapons and he said if another tribe goes in your territory you shall go to war with them.

Mayans
The Mayans are a "Mesoamerican Civilization". The term mesoamerican means a region or cultural area is the Americas. The Mayans were the first civilization to develop a well-known full language and to use mathematical references as well as astronomical systems.
The Mayans are dated between 2000 BC and AD 250
according to mesoamerican chronology most Mayan cities reached their full development during the time of AD 250 to 900. Then continued through the arrival of the spanish.
The Mayan civilization shared many features with the mesoamerican civilizations due to the many interactions. Advances such as writing, and the calendar did not originate within the Maya. Maya influence can still be found in places such as Honduras, Belize, Guatemala, and western El Salvador to as far away as central Mexico. The Maya people survived the classic period collapse, the arrival of spanish conquistadors (explorers) and the 16th- century spanish colonization of the Americas.
The Maya civilization extended throughout present-day southern Mexican states of Chiapas, Tabasco, and the Yucatan Peninsula states of Quintana Roo, Campeche, and Yucatan. The Maya area also extended throughout Central America. The Maya are is divided into three loosely deefined zones: The Southern Pacific lowlands, the highlands, and the northern lowlands.

The Mayans were a very futuristic civilization and were the first of many things although are to blame for the calendars we follow today when it wasn't their true creation. They still have a huge part in our society today and they still unknowingly have a huge part of our culture and effect our lives on a daily basis.
